There's nothing explosively in your face of anything remotely close to Modern culture. It's dead. Culture is dead. Half the books at a modern bookstore are books explaining cultural phenomenon to the Past like The Simpsons or the Beatles or World War II. Everything at a bookstore this supposed to catch your eye is related to nostalgia culture. There is no such thing as modern music either. There's no such thing as modern movies or modern anything. And the garbage that they try to pump out as culture is not really culture at all.
We live in a world of post culture, we have traded creativity for internet access. The death of culture came when the internet Rose. Personally, I feel like culture ended around 2006. There were still legitimate movies and still good music coming out but ever since about 2006, there hasn't been any real true culture in America. Just Junk culture just disposable garbage. |
