it is an attitude that is only concerned with the immediate implications. in other words damn tomorrow, it is an immature self centered perspective! lol

That really depends.. If you are just a regular joe living in the world, that sort of memory-predictive mechanism the brain operates as is very useful, especially for predicting where the next meal is, and what cave is safe to sleep in without getting eaten by a saber-tooth tiger or whatever.

But if you are engaged in a spiritual path, at a hardcore level, you want to disengage this brain mechanism and only be in the present moment, instead of getting lost in abstract imaginings and dreams about what could be, or could have been, and all of the associated anxieties and emotional responses this triggers. Somewhat counter-productive to throw up all of these clouds.

One order of Empty Words, comin' right up! Fresh off the 1000 year aging process!

The empty field cannot be cultivated or proven. From the beginning it is altogether complete, undefiled and clear down to the bottom. Where everything is correct and totally sufficient, attain the pure eye that illuminates thoroughly, fulfilling liberation. Enlightenment involves enacting this; stability develops from practicing it. Birth and death originally have no root or stem, appearing and disappearing originally have no defining traces.

Oh, I don't know, one could blame the tyrants and their forcing the world to follow their religion with the edge of their swords, but really it's the ebb and flow of civilizations.. Golden Age, Dark Age, Golden Age, Dark Age, etc.. Empires form, take over the world as it is known, there is peace for a while, philosophical progress, etc, then it becomes decadent, collapses, and the barbarians are at the gates. If you were to imagine a Godly perspective over thousands of years, it'd maybe be like watching the waves on the shore.

The Egyptians, the mongolians, the romains, the europeans, the americans, and so on..
