Is that the reason there is a much higher % of DEPRESSED PEOPLE EVERYWHERE? Or something else leashes as in 'we're trapped in it' ? Like the internet has people on leashes? I don't think our brains either were made - or have evolved yet to process so much information. It breeds a stress in us that we aren't able to recognize. At least I have felt it, prominently in my life, and I've been on the internet since 1996. I noticed that when I consciously make an effort to block out the web (now) ONE full day, every other week, I become a lot less stressed, a lot less sad, in a way - and MUCH more organized and productive, but that only lasts about one or two days after I block out every aspect of the web for 24 hrs. Should we all try to do this or am I just being delusional about blocking it one day every 2 weeks? There should be a thread about it on here, maybe this will be it then. Investigate and cross-examine everything |

I can never fully get away from it, I do it for a living, but a break from using it does help sometimes. The leashes I meant, some physical, like cellphones and peoples' music libraries stored in the cloud, some not so much - like being available 24/7. The leash that pulls me to check GLP for doom. The leash that guilts me if I don't immediately answer an email. I don't even do social media, that adds layers of obligation. Broadly speaking, it adds too much reciprocity to human interactions. Must I like their post if they liked mine? Should I give green because they gave me some? I think it makes us less genuine, in a thousand different ways. |

Is that the reason there is a much higher % of DEPRESSED PEOPLE EVERYWHERE? Or something else There's amazing amounts of good data on the internet. There's a load of crap on the internet as well. Quoting: hotdogg ...choose wisely... Here in is the problem....to be wise.... info (internet or other means) is simple 'knowledge' .... an abundance of 'knowledge' without the 'understanding' to rightly divide causes problems...... rightly dividing with understanding the amount of info taken in brings 'wisdom' ........ depression/oppression is caused by the weight of info...miss-understood ...... these 3 tightly woven together bring TRUTH..... Truth is rising...... |
