Just a guess but I'm betting it somehow involved the car you can see going into the runoff area in the video...the two had probably gotten together somehow.

That's a better video as it shows she was very low (near the wall), and was most likely trying to make a pass while still on the straight away. I'll bet she hit the car in front of her who didn't see her making the move and he moved over as he was starting to slow in order to make the turn. Bad judgment on her part if that's the case to try to make a pass so close to the entry of the turn.

She was backwards as soon as her car entered the video frame. Could have had initial contact with the car that continues to a stop down to the right corner of the picture as she flew into the stand.

There must have been secondary contact with another car's rear wheels after that initial contact which launched her. Her car still was not air born in that video, so something else happened a split second later to launch and even propel her to such an incredible speed.

Who cares in the grand scheme of things but her speed tells me she thought the course was entering a straight-away. I'm sure she either came off the wall or another car when she tried to manuever around the slower cars and that is what spun her around. But how else do you explain her speed?!?

Edit: after freeze framing this at around 8 seconds, that initial contact sent her towards the wall. But the wall should have slowed her down, and spun her out. More video is needed from 12:00 recording location (from the media platform) that she hit to see what launched her. Just very bizarre.

17yr old driver?? is there no requirements for drivers? how can a 17yr possibly have enough seat time to be in a race like this?

Looks like she made wheel to wheel contact while she had the throttle buried well before the braking zone. Once one of these cars gets a few inches off the ground, it will literally fly.
Unfortunate and there’s no way to regain control once it happens. She was going faster than the other cars while in the air because they were breaking down from 120+MPH, she had no breaks.

I have seen a flurry of F1 crashes. The cars are A LOT heavier than GP2 or F3 cars which are much lighter.
