OMG!!!! Massive brutal carsh at Macau GP over the weekend. Car flies into stands seriously injuring a few photographers and marshals. (VIDEO)!!!

Wow, did her throttle stick? That was crazy. Could have been so much worse. Hope everyone recovers as much as possible.

It seems like she was spun around further up the track at over 250kph, when going backwards like that the rear wing creates lift instead of downforce, so the brakes would do nothing. Finally just before the barrier she tapped the yellow car which launched her into the air... One of the craziest crashed ive seen in my 30 years watching racing...

One of two things happened here.

1. Complete brake failure.

2. The computer that runs modern Indy cars went haywire or was hacked causing total loss of control of any functions. Possibly leaving the throttle wide open and loss of brakes. This can happen on all modern cars run by digital and computers with old fashion mechanical functions left out.

I watched many car races over the years. Nothing like this .

Not even driving in the lane, and at top speed. I don't know how these cars work, but maybe as others have said something with the computers.

Nope...she and another car touched wheels on the straightaway...(that car can be seen in the video slowing in the runoff area of the curve.)

When the contact happened the car that crashes lost control, spun backwards at high speed and impacted another car as it was making the turn. It was that contact that sent this car into the photographers stand.

She and the car that wound up in the runoff area had contact on the straightaway leading into this turn.

Oh wow, 3 wide down the straight is pretty dangerous. One small tap at that speed will easily spin a car around, and with the amount of downforce these wings create the brakes would be virtually useless going backwards as all the aero would be creating lift. The curb at the hairpin would then make her car lift off, and the final bump into the yellow car threw her airborne... Definitely seems like a series of unfortunate events. Still amazes me that she survived. That's a testament to modern racing materials and safety standards. I dont think a HALO device would have changed anything either...

She was most definitely qualified to run that race. Please do some research before you come to conclusions. If the first time you heard about Aerton Senna was when he crashed and died would you think he was not a qualified driver? Or when Earnhardt Sr. crashed and died would you think he was not a qualified driver? Here are her career stats...

Ginetta Junior

Formula 4
In 2016, Flörsch signed with BWT Mücke Motorsport to drive in the 2017 ADAC Formula 4 championship.[5] Her car for the season was Car #99, which she called Hugo.[6] In her debut race, she became the first female to score points in a ADAC Formula 4 race. She almost achieved her first podium in her third race however was hit by another car in the closing laps of the race, she recovered to fifth. Her first fastest lap of the season came at race 3 in Zandvoort, in a race halted by poor weather conditions.

2018 Macau Grand Prix
From 15 to 18 November 2018, Flörsch participated in the Formula 3 World Cup at the 2018 Macau Grand Prix.

During the main race, on Lap 4, she made contact with fellow driver Jehan Daruvala, who was reportedly slowing for erroneously-displayed yellow flags on the straight between Mandarin Corner (Turn 3) and Lisboa Bend (Turn 4). This caused her car to spin round out of control, catapulting her into Lisboa Bend at high speed, launching off Sho Tsuboi's car and through the catch-fencing in the process.

Thank god she was ok.

so this was her first F1 race?

This was an F3 race, shes not in F1 yet. And it was her 21st race of the season in F3. Lots of seat time under her belt.

Ive watch racing for 20+ years (jesus, 25 years now) Prove me wrong. No different than danica coming in to nascar and crashing spectacularly.

Ill hold my toungue when i see a good woman RACER, not some girl making laps as a gimmick for sponsor dollars.

Maybe this girl is different but that is, obviously, yet to be seen as you see in the video.

That severe of an accident isnt exactly normal.
