Happy to see a serious scientist discussing some leading edge research here on GLP.

I was on telecons with Dr. Puthoff about 20 years ago. I was a participant in telecons coordinating research across NASA, DoE, and DoD on advanced propulsion.

There were scientists working on wormholes, inertialess drives, etc. in that group. I was just a lowly engineer trying to find new applications for advanced technologies.

I also helped Dr. Forward, who is mentioned in the video, with his studies of advanced propulsion concepts for the USAF back in 1983. BTW, he concluded that the most promising technologies were tethers, aka, space elevators, and controlled antimatter.

In my experience, NASA has cut the budget for almost all leading edge research. USAF and DoE fund a lot of great projects. When one of those projects begins to look promising, they usually go "black".

The use of compartmentalization and strict need-to-know rules keep those technologies hidden until the moment when they are revealed to be applied to a new system.

Based on what I saw before I retired 16 years ago, we probably have some limited type of advanced propulsion applied to satellites right now. I also think it is probable that we have some kind of weapons on orbit that can take out nukes or satellites.

For you young GLP wannabes, my advice is to get a technical degree and find your niche in the new technological fields. Within the lifetime of many on here you will see asteroid mining, lunar mining and manufacturing, military space forces, and many of the things we only dreamed of in science fiction.

My degrees opened up an interesting career where I was able to contribute to both the civilian and military space programs.
