Anonymous Coward User ID: 77115340 United States 11/23/2018 10:58 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | More than 10,000 low-income Kentucky adults no longer have access to a federal program that helps them buy food after state officials slowly reinstated rules requiring them to either get a job or do volunteer work to keep their benefits. Quoting: Putin's Voluntaryist MORE: [link to www.wkyt.com (secure)] Good. You know how to force people to work? Call it a Work Force. If there was a way for these people to grow their own food or communal produce, there would be no one hungry. Work to grow their own food? THEY ARE LAZY AND INCOMPETENT. |

Quoting: SpringLeak This is embarrassing for our nation. It's making us look like one of those third world nations that can't manage its own population. If they are truly disabled why wouldn't they? It takes months if not years to get on SSI. Need doctors' statements and the poorest of the poor never go to doctors so don't have the required proof. "Charity" doctors will ask what's medically wrong with you and many don't know their diagnosis. Then again there's many on permanent SSI who absolutely don't deserve it either. |

These food banks should provide only basic food supplies(rice, beans, oats, etc.) Quoting: Indrid_Cold If you attach some sort of stigma to using them, people will be more likely to get off of them and go to work. And the benefit of doing it this way is that you know they will be getting enough food supplies to last them till they get their next handout. Some recipients will sell their basic food supplies for any amount of $$ and buy drugs & liquor. Then again, some don't have a place to cook, the physical and/or mental strength to do so, and the pots & cooking utensils required. Many are borderline homeless. Vegas now restricts what food EBT recipients can buy (only healthy.) Homeless are offered water, fruit, granola bars. |

Quoting: SpringLeak This is embarrassing for our nation. Its making us look like one of those third world nations that can't manage its own population. People have other options if they can't get food stamps. They could try going to a food bank or a church. I'm old enough to remember when there was no such thing as welfare or food stamps. Needy people got help from charities. Vegas told the poor to to to churches for food. These churches weren't on bus lines (of course public transport isn't free.) Some poor were way too sick to leave their homes, let alone physically able to carry food home. Then the poor were told to find someone to drive them to the churches. As if gas was free, the driver didn't have a job and family obligations, and therefore restricted free time. Most churches distribute food on a set schedule. Meant the poor would wait for hours, only to be told the distributor of the free food hadn't shown up that day. Tough luck if it was pouring rain or extremely hot, and there wasn't any shelter. System sometimes works, and other times does not. |

It is not...in fact it is a badge of honor at how you screwed whitey who produced. You should have to pass a fucking astronaut test to get free shit. Quoting: Swisheee2 The handicap parking placard hanging from the rear view mirror on cars is also a big "fuck you" to working white people around here. It's also a means to identify the illiterate folk, since it has a warning printed right on it that says "IMPORTANT Remove Before Driving Vehicle". Who does your thinking? |

To not do so would be age discrimination. Sorry, but that's just utter bullshit. The poorest people in the country are elderly, single (widowed or otherwise) and white. More than a few have been going without needed medication in order to have anything to eat. You probably don't know either, that Social Security income is taxed - heavily. Over 70% of nursing home residents are being subsidized by Medicaid, and not by choice. You could have found out that much by one phone call to the HHS but you're too lazy. 'Old mares?' There's some rich poetic justice waiting for you, lying in your own piss one day and being kicked by some Affirmative Action hire of a young woman. Assholes like you tend to drive away all their close relationships before they're old and feeble enough to depend upon them, so they end up with an uncaring State - if they're lucky and don't just freeze to death in their homes because nobody's bothered to look in on them. |
