Offline computer mysteriously jumped ahead 5 months
Noticed some timed events were off, and first thought it was just 2 hours ahead.

Then I noticed it was on April 23, 2019.

So just under 5 months ahead.
XP pro on dedicated device, always runs offline.
I've seen them drift sometimes and need to be corrected, but never in many years of experience have I seen such a large error suddenly appear.

Last reboot was early Sept.

0% chance anyone else would have do this, it's in a locked room.

Anyone else ever have XP clock get that far out of whack?

I'd say your CMOS battery is beginning to die, OP. Just replace it with a new battery and the internal clock issue should resolve itself. Especially once you reprogram it's clock back to whatever is your time.

Yep! That's the most probable cause.

Might as well as entertain the thought of a time traveling computer. Too bad it didn't record any of the lotteries' winning combinations.

In my experience, the date/time holds even when the bios battery dies as long as it stays powered up, but I will keep that in mind.

Have seen some other clock anomalies lately, so I'm just suspicious.

There was this 2 months ago.
