Offline computer mysteriously jumped ahead 5 months | |

I've seen them drift sometimes and need to be corrected, but never in many years of experience have I seen such a large error suddenly appear. Last reboot was early Sept. 0% chance anyone else would have do this, it's in a locked room. Anyone else ever have XP clock get that far out of whack? I'd say your CMOS battery is beginning to die, OP. Just replace it with a new battery and the internal clock issue should resolve itself. I'd say your CMOS battery is beginning to die, OP. Just replace it with a new battery and the internal clock issue should resolve itself. Especially once you reprogram it's clock back to whatever is your time. Yep! That's the most probable cause. |
