Someone is pretty fucked in South Carolina. DOJ and Military Investigation Services to Hold Press Conference Tomorrow.

That's one of the things bothering me about this whole thing. I've never seen the military (all the branches) involved in busting up prison porn grifters.


Then the one agency who's job it is to actually investigate federal domestic crimes (FBI) is about the only agency not on the list.


Either this was some type of "cover" for something way bigger or this is part of a highly organized criminal enterprise that will wrangle in some powerful people.

I just can't fathom how this can be about some prisoners in SC running a blackmail con and have air force, Navy, Army, IRS, US marshals, DOJ, etc. all in on this.

It's indictments in a sexploitation case involving inmates and many in the military.

I half-watched it. I think what they were saying is that they did it on cell phones that are not permitted in prisons. At the press conference, they called cell phones in prison "contraband."

So...I just googled:

Contraband cell phones are a real problem. ... Prisoners are allowed to make phone calls, but only on special landlines that can be monitored by law enforcement. In 2013, the FCC recommended implementing technology that would prevent inmates from making cell phone calls.
