Couldn't lose it no matter how much run or train. Then started intermittent fasting since September. Lost 15 lbs with flat stomach. I chose 18/6 hour window. I eat whatever I want during 6 hours. I drink black coffee in the morning and drink water in the evening. Sleeping well.

I do total fasting one weekend every month .

From Friday 6 pm to Sunday 6 pm.

Feeling great and losing 7 lbs in 3 months.

I just started the OMAD (eat One Meal A Day) diet 3 weeks ago. I'm losing inches more than weight, for now. I eat whatever I want for dinner, but still stay away from sodas. Coffee and water during the day only. It's easier now than when I first started.

sometimes i drink water and think its the closest thing to the right food, the food we are supposed to have, not this stuff here we all have to eat.
maybe a mix of light and water, something like that.

you ever really watch people when they eat?
its truly disgusting.
and all the WORK we have to put into eating, the dirty dishes the energy expended gathering and fixing and eating and cleaning up after..it just seems wrong.
all that time spent just dealing with food is just wrong.
its like we are distracted from something because we are having to feed this bodies.
and its not even the right food.
idk, i have issues i guess.

i feed my husband well though, he just loves to eat.
makes me happy to see him happy and full.

So he said to Martha that just a couple things or just one were fine. Don’t get all crazy over a meal preparation with lots of food. There are other things that were better to do than to fuss over a meal. Like listening to him. So you are right. Meals can take up too much time when life needs to be lived.

since ancient times, they have been used for several reasons one of which is weight loss.

Have lost 141 pounds so far via intermittent fasting and organic Whole Foods plant based way of eating. It works. 39 pounds to go. Starting to add exercise to tone the body. Had cancer and diabetes, almost died, will stay on this regime plus many anti-cancer protocols for the rest of my life.

Eating delicious plant foods and salads, not deprived at all.

Meat eating is bad for the heart, kidneys and digestion. True carnivores have short colons.
Complex carbs, legumes and veggies, all organic. Go vegan to prevent or cure cancer.

i normally only have sugar in my morning coffee, i dont eat sweets at all.
when i drink alcohol, its more of a binge type, i only have one night every few weeks so i drink alot.
the next morning i will be HUNGRY which is unusual for me as i dont normally get hungry until late afternoon when i eat my usual one meal a day.

something about alcohol makes me hungry the next day and i think it might have to do with the YEAST in our bellies maybe it causes an imbalance of too much yeast which causes the hunger?
im not sure, what do yall think?

One cannot fast in that nature if one exercises. You can do it for a week at most before your body tells you not to exercise.

I'm worried about my heart health and definitely need cardio. I burn 600-700 calories per workout and my body will not allow me to go 18 hours without eating. I get ravaged by hunger and that's not a good thing.

I'm maintaining 137 lb by eating less. Fasting? I'm putting more hours between meals. And the meals are smaller than before. At night I fight through the hunger. First meal of the day is one cup of coffee with a lot of International Delight creamer. I avoid anything that says 'diet' on it. High fat keeps your blood sugar up longer.

Anybody heard of "Every Other Day Diet?"

Anybody ever tried it? I went that way for a couple weeks, but there's too much chaos in my life/home right now for me to stay on this. It seems simple enough. One day - eat "normal" (altho you probably want to eat less than you are now), then next day you keep calories down to 400-500. It makes sense (and was easy to do), cause when you want to eat something on diet day, you can tell yourself, "Just wait 24 hours, then you can have it." Thing is: next day (NON-diet day), you mostly don't want the thing you were craving the day before, so you forego it.

And once you start eating (on diet days) only about 500 calories, you find it's not that hard to eat less calories on non-diet days.

If I ever get my life back, I'll try this again. Seems easier - to me - than this intermittent fasting.

How do you prevent getting a headache or the irritability/nausea feeling from low blood sugar? If I don’t eat, I definitely get a headache and sometimes feel nauseous.

I get plenty of rest and I don't exercise that much simce I'm not a young kid any longer. But fasting does not work with exercising. My job is sedentary so I have to exercise more than fast.
You can try the Auschwitz diet to lose weight. It's proven to work. But being active and fasting is not a recipe for success.

Fantastic OP!

Dr Berg has over 2000 Youtube videos, and his website at www drberg dot com has tons of great info on intermittent fasting by using a Keto meal plan, with 1-2 meals a day. This is to eliminate insulin spikes when you eat and the Keto is to switch from sugar burning to fat burning. Everybody I know has lost weight doing IF and Keto.

I used to do fasting with keto and watch Berg all the time but Carnivore is way better. Check it out. I pretty much eat a giant ribeye a day and am now doing calisthenics. At 51 I'm getting in better shape then when I was 17. For the work outs check out thenx.
