Stopped opening fridge so often. Whole thought of food is gone. Quoting: Beautiful mind Bingo. It's 98% mental and when the craving goes away...the fat goes with it. Eating is karma. When you are afraid of losing your life, you have already lost your life. Don't be afraid. |

I eat breakfast and lunch. Eat till I'm full. Hot tea or water with a splash of line when I'm in fasting. If really feel hungry, it's pickle juice or a pickle, or sauerkraut. But that's less than once a month. Regular loss of weight and I'm eating like a king. |

Do not say "whatever" Quoting: SinistarMcZaxxon Egg, fast food, milk, juice, meat, fruits, vegetables. Sometimes I go without food till 2 or 3 pm. I have been doing this for a while with good results as well. I usually have a teaspoon of walnut oil around 1:00pm to get my body burning fat for fuel, plus it is great for the heart and brain, AND it tastes awesome.. I also stay low carb high protein though.. No fast food for this guy. Almost have my 6 pack back. I wasn't WAY overweight, but I was overweight. 6-3 and an athletic build, I was 213 2 months ago, I am 198 now. I also do a 5 day split, but I don't take any days off. |

I'm not sure why. So I upgraded the intermittent fasting to eating every other day. That was brutal and I lost a lot of weight doing it, but it's too hard to maintain, so now on fast days I just eat one meal, dinner. As a result I've plateaued a bit. With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible |

Its about sacrificing you to their God. |

I found although 16/8 made me feel great I didn't see incredible results until I stepped it up more to 20/4 20/4 Is the ultimate I think especially if you do a mild workout 3 times a week with nothing but Exercises using your own body weight like push-ups, squats, dips...throw in some light treadmill work or a nice hike/walk a few times a week and magic starts to happen For people who want to really put some rocket fuel on everything do low calorie for 4 days (lower than maintenance intake whatever your weight is you can figure those numbers out with gooogle)....heavy calorie higher than maintenance three days in a row after that (no junk food whole natural foods). After a few weeks make sure your heavy calorie days don't land on the same days anymore to keep tricking the body from adapting. So you might extend your high calorie a couple days then start your lo-cal 4 day set again Your metabolism will be incredible after a couple months and will be melting fat off That's the old school tried and true way of losing weight and building muscle...all these other fads like Keto, Atkins, paleo, etc are just offshoots of it because the only way to really drop calories appropriately is to keep carbs under 50grams and elevate with natural fats from nuts, butter, non heated non seed oils without that starvin feeling If we are all feeling our bests the evil scumsuckers out their lose of their power!! |

My wife falls in that category and she's required by her doctor to eat numerous small meals/snacks throughout the day. Otherwise she'll get dizzy or faint. Years ago she was overweight but since switching to a super healthy diet with smaller portions (and doing lots of walking) she's back to her old self. We in the US are eating bigger and bigger portions which are being pushed by the food manufacturers and fast food places. Our fridges are overstuffed with unnecessary food. 20 years ago a typical muffin was about 1.5 oz and 210 calories. Now it's 4+ oz and over 700 calories. A cheeseburger was around 300 calories. Now it's at least 800 calories. Some McDonalds and Burger King burgers are over 1200 calories. There are plenty of articles about how portion sizes have become ridiculously huge in this country. |

Quoting: Anonymous Coward 77449426 Completely untrue. Intermittent fasting helps treat insulin resistance, helps regulate and normalize blood sugar. Disagree. Intermittent fasting is indeed unsafe because of the severe spike in hypoglycemia during the fasting period. The best diet for diabetes is still low carb. There are studies to prove that: [link to www.endocrineweb.com (secure)] Excerpts: "The reason people on insulin and sulfonylureas really cannot safely do intermittent fasting is because of the risk of hypoglycemia." "The most consistent way to lose weight and keep it off when you have type 2 diabetes is limiting the carbohydrates in your diet." |

If I don’t eat, I definitely get a headache and sometimes feel nauseous. Quoting: Little Red Hen I was doing 2 meals a day, laying off the carbs, and doing very well, slimming down, feeling better. I just kept putting off breakfast until lunch time, nothing severe. Then I went to a baby shower and ate some of that lovely cake, and it has been almost a year getting back into the routing. I can get into a real sugar binge at the drop of a hat/ My blood sugar has been going up and down and I've not been feeling very energetic, just kind of Yuk . So back to 2 meals a day which does not bring on the low blood sugar and also not the cravings. Maybe I will move to OMAD later, but for now, I just want to get stabilized here and begin to experience the benefits again. I do eat a sizable lunch, lots of cheese or cottage cheese and veggies, peanut butter (yes, raw peanut butter), curried lentils from Costco. The lentils are very helpful in stabilizing blood sugar. I would suggest plugging them in on a daily basis to avoid the low blood sugar blues. *** Good deeds bring rewards, bad actions bring troubles. That is a law of the universe. *** |

Quoting: Anonymous Coward 77349451 to consume black coffee would kill me for those 18 hours and just water...not sure Try sipping a little apple cider vinegar in water before eating. Maybe 3-4 tablespoons in 1 cup water, a weak solution. It helps to do away with that. Your food gets digested with that little bit of extra acid. *** Good deeds bring rewards, bad actions bring troubles. That is a law of the universe. *** |

Deplorable NO MORE Michele B User ID: 77618764 United States 05/22/2019 11:00 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Anybody heard of "Every Other Day Diet?" Anybody ever tried it? I went that way for a couple weeks, but there's too much chaos in my life/home right now for me to stay on this. It seems simple enough. One day - eat "normal" (altho you probably want to eat less than you are now), then next day you keep calories down to 400-500. It makes sense (and was easy to do), cause when you want to eat something on diet day, you can tell yourself, "Just wait 24 hours, then you can have it." Thing is: next day (NON-diet day), you mostly don't want the thing you were craving the day before, so you forego it. And once you start eating (on diet days) only about 500 calories, you find it's not that hard to eat less calories on non-diet days. If I ever get my life back, I'll try this again. Seems easier - to me - than this intermittent fasting. |
