I never balieved Santa for a moment when I was a kid. My kids didn't either. We tried telling them the Santa stories and they just laughed or asked debunking questions. At a few years old.

Teachers aren't obligated to lie to their students to perpetuate their parents' delusions. Santa ISN'T real, FFS. Stop lying to your kids. Stop selling them nonsense so they'll believe the bigger nonsense (i.e., the validity of your religious nonsense). Good for this teacher. If she's officially sanctioned/fired, I hope she fights it in court. No court is going to rule that a teacher has to lie to their students to retain employment.

Santa is not real, christmas is not real. Jesus was not born then. Christmas is real. The decorations, trees, presents those are real and i see nothing wrong w celebrating that. This was Emilia’s class today. A substitute teacher asked the kids which holiday was coming up and when somebody answered “Christmas,” she proceeded to just completely unleash on them:
She told them Santa isn’t real and parents just buy presents and put them under their tree. She told them reindeer can’t fly and elves are not real- elf on the shelf is just a pretend doll that your parents move around. She did not even stop there: the tooth fairy is not real because mom or dad just sneak into your room in the middle of the night and put money under your pillow, same goes for the Easter bunny. She told them magic does not exist. There is no such thing as magic anything.
A grown woman tried to crush our six-year-old‘s spirit, along with the spirits of the other 22 kids in CH’s 1st Grade class. Many of us parents have been doing damage control since the kids get home from school today, but coming from an adult this is definitely the kind of seed that was planted deep inside of their skeptical, perceptive and inquisitive minds.

As for the people saying, you shouldn't lie to children, they are probably some of the same ones who would present a drag queen to their child and say it is a she and also, they probably don't have children.

She told the truth. If the children had not been told lies in the first place, there would be nothing to "crush". When those children turn into adults they will remember that teacher for the truth she was trying to convey.

How to damage children's natural trust? Tell them lies for as long as possible until they realize that they have been had. They are conditioned into thinking that everything which is beautiful will eventually fade, and that people tell you things to make you (temporarily) happy.

Magic does not exist. Powers, which may appear to those who do not have them to be supernatural, are acquired with increasing levels of spirituality.

On the other hand, purposely and deliberately crushing children's dreams and excitement is a very unkind act. May we inspire our children with the real miracles of life rather than fake ones, so that they are never "disappointed".
