May the Lord welcome the Adm into His waiting arms. I pray for his family in this, their time of grief.

Was he involved in the removal of the commander during the Benghazi deal? Be interesting to find out. Who was that? Rear Adm. Charles M. Gaouette? Commander of Strike Group 3 during the 11 SEPT 2012 Benghazi CIA Annex 13-Hours fiasco? Then forced into retirement in NOV 2013? Be interesting to see where he (Vice Adm. Scott Stearney) was during that.

He was busy.

(NOT a fiasco for the brave warriors who fought, that is)

Oh-another interesting factoid:

Also included in the list of nominations was Navy Capt. James A. Kirk, who was nominated for appointment to the rank of rear admiral (lower half). Kirk is currently serving as deputy for weapons and sensors, N96, in the Office of the Chief of Naval Operations. Kirk was the first commanding officer of the guided-missile destroyer USS Zumwalt (DDG-1000).

That's right, Bitches! We have a Captain Jim Kirk!

it's a long read, but mentions both Benghazi and Vice Adm. Scott A. Stearney:
