Happy New Year Everyone. stoned Had sauteed scallops and leeks for breakfast. Splashed the wine on it. Delicious. Then lunch was juicy baby back ribs and some corn relish on chips. Downed a bottle of wine in the freaking 3 digit weather. One of the band's wife fell flat on her face in the heat, had to doctor her awake and patched. Then her husband couldn't walk off the stage when the set was finished. Then we finally got everyone back in the AC. Sun went down a bit, headed to car, and the lady next to us was passed out in her car. EMT said, 'you have drugs in your system you're not driving.' So we left the scene unscathed. Headed to next gig and luckily survived the 10,000 sweaty irate hungry party goers, cause we slithered like the spirit in the sky was taking care of us...

Whoo-hoo, congrats on the job!

Got any recipes?

Schedule change here--breakfast is a biscuit with country ham.

Lunch has been redefined to be steak, grits, and eggs.

Hahaa, I missed that episode.

I am beginning a tomato salad today. Sauteed 1 C fresh peeled whole garlic cloves in greek olive oil, gray sea salt and homegrown dried lavender. The kitchen smells marvelous.

I might slice it after it cools (or leave whole) and mix w a balsamic vinegar and cool olive oil for the dressing. Tomorrow I'll julienne the fresh basil, that's growing in the kitchen window and the various heirloom tomatoes, with different color and cuts. Then sprinkle with sliced walnuts and feta.

I'll freeze the drained olive oil from the garlic sautee and use it in a meat 'stewp' later.

Hot topix Lance! bonghit I'm sure the cultural intentions of the left brian v right brian and the angle of the sun determined, on any given day, everything is interchangeable.

Made the tomato salad today instead of tomorrow. Then the fruit salad that I'll have to give away, since the fruit salad for the family reunion was already determined to be grape.

So, I'll be sharing, watermelon, kiwi, strawberry and mango salad w poppyseed dressing to my elderly friends.

Bought a peck of peaches which are ripening on the counter.

the tip I left out all night and day marinating in garlic black walnut. that is all I did. slow bake at 225 for 5 hours almost. it was small piece of meat so it cooked up good and tender in 4 really.

That sounded delicious.

Country ham on biscuits with eggs and cheese for our breakfast.

I'm thinking of General Tso's chicken over chicken fried rice for my dinner and nachos and a hotdog for Mrs.

Yesterday I learned how one must never ever marinate a decent steak--don't put a tablespoon of vinegar in with it--it turns the steak grey and with a consistency of corned beef. Not what a good strip steak should be like.

1dpanic Good Lord, I hope she’s ok....

I don’t marinate most steaks at all. A tip is a different beast.
For the finer cuts, I just throw some garlic an/or worsheschererer sauce while it’s in the pan or grill.

I forgot how to spell. I’m just going with it...lol.

Remember to breathe, MonaLisa. You can make yourself laugh too, cynical as it seems. Keep taking your magnesium supplements. Hide all the pictures that make you feel sad. Stay hydrated and remember there are many possibilities for love every day of your life. Today is never the end, today is a change. One morning you will wake up feeling good, and the past will creep in and make you sad. Don't give habit the power over your happy morning. Make new habits. Make new smiles. hugs

My kids and Mr. are going to Florida tomorrow. Most of his family retired to the Clearwater area.

Pretty sure, the hubby will come back and ask me for the divorce we should have gotten years ago... It’s ok. I’m ok. Just heard the song, “For the Summer” by Ray LaMontagne and cried like a baby.
I’d post it for you if I could. afro Reminds me of all our vacations driving back on Sundays through West Virginia or Vermont.

Oh, we can go through divorces at the same time. I leave come September...and there is no paperwork to fill out or anything, I don't want anything. I hesitate to bring religion into a foodie thread, but I found God and Christ through Q and she thinks I'm just nuts.

But eventually I will sneak the secret pho recipe out of my new neighbour and will share it. I had it for breakfast as well....now were are looking at moving my freezer and buying a lot of bones to make it a continuous broth...it was gelatinous (last nights and this mornings) goop until it was reheated...

Life is kind of odd but so be it.

I won’t, but it feels good to know I have many options!
