the rest of the month.
 Quoting: Louis in Richmond

Copays are bleeding us dry.

$40 per doctor visit and $150 for surgeries.

We have spent over $2.400 since April.

I almost died when I got a bill for close to $50K from the hospital.

A phone call to Anthem BC/BD paid that, but still the ongoing copays are a pernicious plague.
 Quoting: Paranoiaaaaa

----------------
They get your money one way or the other. We have so many unpaid hospital bills. There's no way we can pay them all. They just go to collections and I ignore the phone calls. I looked at my credit and they're not even on there. So I quit worrying about it. I pay what I can, but we have to eat.

I screwed up the quote.

It depends on where you are. Think of BC, it is larger then WA, OR, CA and half of Idaho put together. There are under 5 million people here so timing to get to a Dr. in a populated zone can be a very long time. Plus look at me, say I got Cancer and actually went for treatment, I'd have to ferry off my island thingy (paid for) a few times a week. The same goes for all of Canada outside the Toronto-Montreal corridor.

$120.00 a month, for weak services. My community all chipped in for a CAT thingy, we got it and it told me my brain was fine. It's the scale of things.

We don't have a wait issue here, we can see a doctor the same day and if there is an issue see a specialist in a day or two. We have a copay issue.

For emergencies like the Mrs. had in April, she was seen by eighteen different doctors and specialists during her twelve day stay, they even had the MRI machine magnets changed and realigned for a motion cardiac MRI, but that took two days for someone to fly here that could do the hardware changes.

For us it's the copay and it can take days or a week for Anthem BC/BS to adjust our coverage to cover any new issue that comes up or prescription need. I truly can't complain about them. They have filled our prescriptions at ninety day levels twice in the last month. we have six months of prescriptions on hand now and they are still refilling them monthly. Maybe they 'know something' is coming? I just know that's not how healthcare usually fills prescriptions.

That is strange for prescriptions. Mine will fill for 90 days, but you have to wait until just a few days before to refill, unless it's an increased dosage or something like that.

They got a new girl that I see at the pain dr now. She's nice enough, but tried to tell me that she couldn't give 3 months worth of my pain meds at a time. I told her the last nurse did and it was filled. She just said that's strange or some shit. I know the higher scheduled drugs only go 30 days at a time, but mine isn't like that. It pisses me off because I pay the same copay whether it's 30 or 90 days. I could be saving money. It's like $20 something, but I sure could use that on something else. I feel like there is a problem if I know more than the person prescribing my drugs.1doh1

Re: GRILL CHEESSE N TOMATO SAMMMICH KIND OF NIGHT W/BLACK BEAN SOUP.......ITS RAINING
I got the prescription extras figured out. A month ago the pharmacy called while I was driving home asking me if I wanted to pick up my prescriptions all at the same time on ninety day intervals. I told them "yes" so they went over all they had on file and submitted them all to be refilled the same time. They likely asked other stuff but I was concentrating on driving.

When I went to pick them up I was charged for some I never pay for and one came back at no coverage. I called Anthem BC / BS and found someone that would listen to my issue. They said they would get the pricing right and even send a refund check. Well that didn't happen so I called again. [Lather / rinse / repeat twice more]

So I called yet again and found someone that actually knew what they were doing and she said she'd just reset my and the Mrs. accounts and re-enter all the pricing. That had to be where it happened because the next trip to the pharmacy they had a ninety day supply of all of our prescriptions again.

At that point I thought it best to quit while I was ahead. So no doom, just problems with the system that worked in our favor.

He just ruined oatmeal for me--I eat steel cut oats.
 Quoting: Louis in Richmond

Sorry! slow release carbs tends to keep the sugar higher for longer periods of time and it's great if you plan on running or do a lot of activities after you eat it.
 Quoting: chasity

Then until I can resume twenty to twenty five miles per week total walking, my oats may need to come off the menu.

I wonder how grits stand up in that regard, I mean they are just dried, lye stripped, ground corn. There cannot be too many slow-release carbs in them.
 Quoting: Louis in Richmond

All grains are going to release slower. Low-med glycymic foods release the energy gradually for longer period of time and they keep the blood sugars elevated. That's why grains are pretty much off the diet when you want to lower blood sugar. I do eat low calorie bread and that has 8 grams of carbs per slice. Sometimes I eat 2 whole sandwiches a day (all my meals), I'm still under 40 carbs for the day. Those are on days I don't work out because I don't need the energy. Even on my work out days, I will still weigh a sweet potato to make sure it's 30 grams of carbs and that only keeps my muscles from feeling sore and i recovery faster. I mainly eat higher carbs for recovery and endurance, and not every day.

I had my back injection this morning. This time it hurt worse and my back is hurting. Even the sedative (Nirvam) didn't really help. Or maybe I would have been screaming without it? 1dunno1

Sounds like you have like what I have. I am utter pain right now because of moving over state lines. Why I am getting quieter and quieter, I am in utter pain. Message me if you want to know my experience and tips and tricks.

Also sounds like certain medications you are immune too also. Something I wanted pointed out.

I can’t take Demeral or something like that, hardcore pain med. Does nothing to me.

I am normally under Pain Management but my medication cant cross state lines. Even put me in the ER on Monday from withdrawals with high blood pressure and chest pains, they thought I was having a heart attack.

Pain is no joke and no way to live. But I tried everything. Message me if you want to know Parr. hugs

wow, pain will make your blood pressure go higher.

were you injured too?

I wasn't even injured and I have a slipped disc in my neck and my spine doctor told me to do dead lifts and use and inversion table and my pain is manageable. Sometimes I'll have a bad flare up in my neck like when I use the leaf vacuum because the vibrations make the disc move slightly. I can't use anything that vibrates like a jigsaw massage. I used one on my husband and I got a flare up the next day in my neck and it takes a week of special exercises to get the numbness out o my hand.

Do you feel numb when you have the pain too?

My bones are deteriorating basically. And I was a hard worker, still try to be too. Started on my lower back which since has been rebuilt, I have more hardware in my lower back than the desk your sitting at right now. Now it is my neck and middle back.

Under pain management I can have a pain level of 2-3 and no one cant tell. I have a constant pain level of 6-7 now but woke up and cried a couple evenings last week with a 10 level for a couple hours.

Throw in I am all alone in a new state too.

Never let it stop you, I am going drive 30 miles in the mountains and cut wood at my buddies house so I can get stock wood for my Missouri Mud Racks.

Gotta do what you gotta do. But ya, I block it out the best I can and hide it. I’ll be talking and a tear could run down my face for no reason.

Mine is due to deterioration too.

You sound very tough. I like that you don't let it stop you. I also feel bad because there isn't much you can do to make it feel better.

If it was the one also calling you a c*nt, I'm guilty of its removal. You didn't deserve that.

Re: GRILL CHEESSE N TOMATO SAMMMICH KIND OF NIGHT W/BLACK BEAN SOUP.......ITS RAINING
I went to walmart yesterday to stock up on the beef pastrami and munster cheese and they had samples of tea. no sugar, regular, sweet, and extra sweet. Not one person tasted the no sugar and the extra sweet was half way gone! I went for the no sugar and sure enough it tasted exactly as I expected, tea with no sugar! I've always wanted buy some like that on the shelf so I could have it cold in the fridge and now it's finally being marketed. But it doesn't look like it's going to do well in sales. I'm not much of a tea drinker, Mr. Chasity and my girls are but they like mint and green tea. I did get a citrus and a peach flavor and I like those. I drink mountain tea in the winter it's also known as ironwort and it's so fucking aromatic and has a naturally sweet taste.

and a funny thing my little girl said on the way back from walmart, she was starving so I stopped and got her a jr. whopper. I was pretending to interview her about the new vegan burger and asked her if it taste like soy, she said "it tastes like animal cruelty" I busted out laughing because her mouth was full when she said that and then I told her older sister that's a vegan #notreallyatmomshouse and she thought it was hilarious.
