Quoting: BeenHereBefore More people die in hospitals than drunk driving, gun related and many other "accidental" types of death, yearly. Meanwhile, people who truly wish to die have had to fight long legal battles, including those who are in a vegetative state, depressed, in constant severe pain or whatever... and here this woman gets the "blessing" that so many others want but can't get? Hell, I'm sure there are TONS of prisoners who received life sentences and would happily request a last banquet meal and a dose of what she had to get past the remaining decades of monotony and violence they face in prison. This world is f*cked up beyond any dream gone wrong, even for all of its beauty. It's just SO antithetical and diametrically opposed across SO many things, the concept of Good and Evil and Black and White are too overly simplistic and never take into account the other two states of duality... the transient state and the null state between both. And its not a good med for claustrophobia. Claustrophobic patients get Valium or even diphenhydramine for imaging. Also...the PET scan machine is like a cat scan...like a donut. It's not a long tube like MRI. Where MRI takes an hour or more...a PET scan only takes 15-20 min Why a doctor would prescribe versed injection for a short test in an open machine is beyond me. In all my years..I've never heard of such a thing. It's dangerous too because the patient needs to have all vitals monitored... heart rate, BP, O2.. But somehow the patient was taken into the room without the nurse... immediately after the nurse gave the injection? Not saying it's fake. But there are a lot of discrepancies ..in the article and in real life practice. Last Edited by Feyra on 12/02/2018 01:21 AM |

There are different drugs that are the same class. The ones we're talking about here are sedatives and paralytics. Paralytics should only be given if you're trying to kill the person, or you're prepared to take over the patient's airway and breathing with intubation and assisted ventilations. Versed has many uses and it is similar to Valium. The anxiolytics/sedatives are very dose dependent. You can use them to calm people, reduce chances of status epilipticus, sedate, and even cause retrograde amnesia. Versed was appropriate for this procedure, Vecuronium was not. The nurse failed to notice the difference and her negligence killed her patient. |
