I don't remember after other former US presidents passed away, the current president shutting down Wall Street. Did this happen before? Why would this be done?

Any links appreciated...

Seems I'm going to close my own thread...

WSJ: "U.S. financial markets, in a tradition that dates back to the 1800s, will be closed Friday for the funeral of former President Ronald Reagan."

Closed for Gerald Ford too.

Interesting. I suppose that it's to prevent an attack on a vulnerable day?

Stock Markets have always been closed on days of national mourning.

So it won't embarrass them when the markets go up.
I don't have the time or the crayons to explain this to you.

This is the first time since Hurricane Sandy in October 2012 that the stock market will be closed on a regular trading day-

Trump has declared a day of mourning. Still messing with them I would say. Keeps all his enemies unstable. Plus timing, isn't this the week of certain inquiries into the dark operations of the Demoncrats to destroy a sovereign nation for the cause of their global taskmasters? MAGA
