Yeah like all the major EU countries (used to refurbish a lot of UN/NATO vehicles for the EU countries), the thing is by themselves all the armies of each separate EU countries are pretty much useless, all have aging equipment and poor numbers. I would of assumed it was more directed towards controlling their armies and governments by limiting their armies such as the USA did with Japan. With this scenario, rogue nations such as Germany, Italy, and any others that wanted to try to dominate another country couldn't with the limited military assets. This way the USA, Britain, France, or other major governments can keep control over those that go rogue. I like the strategy for I feel it stopped possible major conflicts in the last century, and since I'm American, it helped my country dramatically economically and politically, but I don't like as you stated that this could lead into 1 major army for this would be a 1 world government scenario and the world population is not ready for that environment. |
