Truth is finite not relative. does 1+1=4 to you? There is only 1 truth by definition.

-Then why did Christians in the earliest centuries believe something that most Christians today think is heretical?

Catholic Hell Copied from Heathen Sources. Origin of Endless Punishment.
For example, the Pharisees, according to Josephus, regarded the penalty of sin as torment without end, and they stated the doctrine in unambiguous terms. ( Jesus rebuked the Pharasies and called them hypocrites, he also compared them to a den of vipers.)

Classic scholars know that the heathen hell was early copied by the Catholic church, and that almost its entire details afterwards entered into the creeds of Catholic and Protestant churches up to a century ago. ( WRONG ) Below are two verses speaking of eternal punishment that was written well before the Catholic church existed.

Daniel 12:2 "And many of those who sleep in the dust of the ground will awake, these to everlasting life, but the others to disgrace and everlasting contempt."
Isaiah 66:22-It says that once God makes the new heavens and the new earth, believers "will go out and look upon the dead bodies of those who rebelled against [God]; their worm will not die, now will their fire be quenched, and they will be loathsome to all mankind."
If you say it has been copied wrong or last in translation or changed you are once again WRONG. In 1947 oddly enough the same year Israel was re formed, the dead sea scroll where found. Among them was found a scroll of Isaiah that was translated and compared to our modern King James Bible and was found to be 100% accurate with nothing added or missing.

Isn't that interesting how what is deemed 'the truth' keeps changing across centuries and across translations?

When we ask the question: Where did those in the primitive Christian church who taught endless punishment find it, if not in the Bible?- ( from your supplied document)

Biblical references for eternal punishment:

Daniel 12:2 "And many of those who sleep in the dust of the ground will awake, these to everlasting life, but the others to disgrace and everlasting contempt."

Isaiah 66:22-It says that once God makes the new heavens and the new earth, believers "will go out and look upon the dead bodies of those who rebelled against [God]; their worm will not die, now will their fire be quenched, and they will be loathsome to all mankind."

Revelation 14:11 And the smoke of their torment goes up forever and ever, and they have no rest, day or night, these worshipers of the beast and its image, and whoever receives the mark of its name.”

Revelation 19:20 And the beast was captured, and with it the false prophet who in its presence had done the signs by which he deceived those who had received the mark of the beast and those who worshiped its image. These two were thrown alive into the lake of fire that burns with sulfur.

Sigh, you haven't even gone down the rabbit hole of your own theology and you're trying to give people time sensitive ultimatums???

You are reacting to English mistranslations of Hebrew & Greek words which changed the meanings of the earlier scriptures... If you don't believe me, I challenge you to read through this document:

[link to www.tentmaker.org (secure)]

Did you know that Jerome who translated the scriptures into Latin was not even a native speaker of Hebrew or Greek? Did you know that Jerome placed the pagan idea of 'hell' in the Latin Vulgate twice as many times as the KJV translators did? Why does the content of the bible change according to whoever is doing the translating?

And referring to anything as 'eternal' which in fact is not present right now and perpetually (always) present is a false construct that violates the very foundation o that concept...

OP you have no business trying to indoctrinate people with theological doctrines if you haven't even sufficiently researched and uncovered the history behind them...

You have obviously done a lot of researcher into people who try to disprove the bible but have you actually read it for yourself? History is written by those who take it by force and write it according to their own agendas. I read your last document and found it wanting in truth. I pointed out at least 3 areas where there are obvious lies and I proved them. What do you have to say about those?
