Government contractors get screwed too. I am a contractor for a govt agency. They all get the day off, but we have to take a day of vacation or leave without pay. We have no choice. So this is costing me a burned day of vacation.

Postal office and workers in my area were closed today in all of the smallest cities around me. I am friends with one. USPS delivers Amazon packages to my area and it's a rural area. I wonder who delivered Amazon package to all the people in the rural areas? I had a priority package I need to sign for but now it will not be here until tomorrow.

So idiot, please explain to me how they delivered everywhere because they sure as hell didn't deliver here.

Every post office in this region processed and delivered Amazon parcels and it would be suicide not to, as any lost time at Christmas dooms us to certain failure.

That said, if you live on the bottom the Grand Canyon and your mail is brought in on a donkey, well...the Rural carriers work under a different contract as do their RCAs.

I've never seen an Amazon package that went Priority and needed to be signed for, btw. Delivery was through RCAs not regular carriers and often times RCAs will let a signature piece fail because they simply don't have the time or experience to get the job done if they are bogged down with endless signature packages.

But anyway, you probably know more about the Post Office than someone who works there, because you know a guy, so carry on.

Christmas time is chaos, and now due to this unscheduled off day, the rest of the season...there is no hope to be on top of things or even treading water.

I called my friend who is actually a carrier for the post office yesterday and they didn't work. They were all off. No one showed up to sort or deliver any mail and I can confirm this for three small cities located in rural TX. No one delivered any package for them. She said they would just go out on Thursday.
