As a child, did anybody else dream of being chased up a flight of stairs by a monster and never reaching the top stair?

It was a never-ending staircase. Not sure who or what was doing the chasing.

I used to have this as a recurring nightmare as a child. Wondering if anybody else experienced something similar?

Yes, but I found out later that my step dad locked me in the basement.

No, but once dreamt I was climbing up some scaffolding on a tall building, half way up and somebody threw a baby piglet off the roof. I either had to carry on climing and leave the piglet to drop or let go and catch the piglet and fall myself. I caught the piglet, no idea what happened after.damned

Yes, lots of times... I've heard they are anxiety dreams....just the pains of growing up...

Anybody get those dreams of falling but wake up just in time and jump?
Or flying but you're about to smack into something and lose control and you jump awake just in time before the smack.. hate those dreams, lol...

No, but I do remember gliding down stairs as a kid.

My version of this was a kind of infinity dream represented by a sort of block on a long wire stretching off to invisibility, with that block replicated every x feet, and there being an uncalculanle amount of other such wires in a grid going off in any direction, and so the anxiety was expressed in the.. negative arisings around trying to grasp this dreamscape, to hold it in mine childhood head.. Like some giant invisible force of evil chasing you? I've had those kind of dreams in all kinds of scenarios.

Re: As a child, did anybody else dream of being chased up a flight of stairs by a monster and never reaching the top stair?
yes, and i'd wake up... but then, my mom put a rope on the balcony and tied it... a climbing rope, nice and thick.

if ever there was a fire, we could go down the rope from the third floor apartment.

From then on, i thought if the monster chased me I could just go down the rope.
