New data from the Space Weather Prediction Center (SWPC) shows cosmic winter is here.
New sun spot numbers were released the other day.

The sun is still sleeping. No big change in sun spot numbers as we are at solar minimum.

What is interesting is they extended the prediction line.

Have a look.

Now have a look at the previous month's data.

:ssnov2018:

:ssdec2018:

On the top image you can still see the minimum curve from the previous cycle. Notice not long after the minimum, the sun spot numbers climb rapidly.

Now look at the numbers for December.

The red prediction line looks flat.

Not that a NOAA prediction line has ever meant much before.

I expect a major awakening and fireworks in the next 12 months. This comes from alchemy so the models do not really apply despite all signs pointing to the opposite

Good thread though, we'll see soon enough

I disagree with you in this case.

The sun is sleeping.

We should see some activity within the next year if things are to return to normal solar activity.

But the fact is the last 3 solar cycles at least have had decreased solar output than the one before. Cycle 24 being the strangest.

I expect cycle 25 will be quite silent, or maybe even a small strange cycle before it goes silent.

Keep us updated. after reading the pics of mars on

NASA's website about climate change on mars, i realize that

It is all the sun! and has nothing to do with man.
Evil controls the ignorant... Climate change is a hoax so is the vax you have been fear-porned into compliance!

Definition Satan from the bible: Satan (Rev 12:7) exercising his subtle (indirect) impact on heathen governments (powers) – i.e. accomplishing his hellish agenda from "behind the scenes."

I'm saying cosmic winter started at the first part of 2018.

Well ahead of the predicted curve.

The only reason we had the spike in the sun spot numbers last year is because someone detonated a hydrogen bomb.

Wait. I feel like I have written this all before.

That's not a bad thought. We could have a couple short solar cycles before things get back to normal.

It's hard to tell from the perspective of this small planet the actual cause of the solar disturbance.

Not that a NOAA prediction line has ever meant much before.

NOAA the people that brought you Spaghetti Model predictions, eventually they get it right when it's fucking obvious that there isn't any other possibility, and they dare call it science.

I would say NOAA has too much on their plate, but since space weather does effect the earth weather, they get the ball.

Maybe Trump will give the SWPC a funding boost.

Quite a few blew just after Christmas. In the US, Ireland and Aus at least. In NY there was a blue light in the sky above the station

I don't think it was the sun. It's been mostly quiet.

Even minor geomagnetic storms don't do much typically, and we only has Kp 5 for a few hours one day.

Some solar flares as well, but I think the largest was only a C1.6.

If it was just after Christmas it was probably just the baby Jesus playing with some new presents.

Galactic superwaves out of nowhere maybe, it is a big-ass sky after all, and they're only watching a small part of it.

Agreed. We don't see half the shit that flies past us.

But we do have lots of data for what's happening on the planet. I can normally tell you if it came from space if you give me a datetime.

I normally watch everyday all day, but I haven't been at my computer much lately.

The sun is sleeping, and hasn't done much worth talking about lately.
