New data from the Space Weather Prediction Center (SWPC) shows cosmic winter is here.

I expect a major awakening and fireworks in the next 12 months. This comes from alchemy so the models do not really apply despite all signs pointing to the opposite

I disagree with you in this case.

The sun is sleeping.

We should see some activity within the next year if things are to return to normal solar activity.

But the fact is the last 3 solar cycles at least have had decreased solar output than the one before. Cycle 24 being the strangest.

I expect cycle 25 will be quite silent, or maybe even a small strange cycle before it goes silent.

Do you think the "transformer issues" we're caused by the sun?

Not that a NOAA prediction line has ever meant much before.

NOAA the people that brought you Spaghetti Model predictions, eventually they get it right when it's fucking obvious that there isn't any other possibility, and they dare call it science.

What transformer issues?

Quite a few blew just after Christmas. In the US, Ireland and Aus at least. In NY there was a blue light in the sky above the station

I don't think it was the sun. It's been mostly quiet.

Even minor geomagnetic storms don't do much typically, and we only has Kp 5 for a few hours one day.

Some solar flares as well, but I think the largest was only a C1.6.

If it was just after Christmas it was probably just the baby Jesus playing with some new presents.

Galactic superwaves out of nowhere maybe, it is a big-ass sky after all, and they're only watching a small part of it.
