That's chaff. They believe any and every lie they are told because they never search for the truth because they prefer a lie. They're evil, empty people.

It is a rare kernel of humanity that seeks Truth above all.
 Quoting: Pneumati tou Stomatos

"From the spirit of Condemnation proceed accusation, false pity, and false judgment. It feeds itself on the contemplation of evil, and cannot see the good. It has eyes for evil only, and finds it in almost every thing and every person. It sets up an arbitrary standard of right and wrong by which to judge others, and it thinks, “This man does not do as I would have him do, he is therefore evil, and I will denounce him.” So blind is the spirit of condemnation that whilst rendering its possessor incapable of judging himself, it causes him to set himself up as the judge of all the earth." ~ James Allen

I accept that you see us this way, but I can tell you, from my personal perspective, at least, that I am not judging, even if my language seems stronger than I'd like. I earnestly want no-one to perish, and my strongest-held belief is that God is exactly Who He says He is, His Son is, as well, and that we are waiting even now for the End Times, with all the news falling out as it is.

If you believed I would drown if I jumped into a river, would you not try to stop me? Would you not try to prevent me from making a decision that would end my life?

I am doing the same with people who are nonbelievers. I do not wish you to drown, so I am explaining to you that there is a savage river just ahead, and working very hard to keep you from leaping into it.

Pooka what do you mean see 'us'? I'm reacting to individuals and their individualized behavior, I'm not reacting to any generalized groups/demographics... I don't view you by your religious affiliation, I view you as a soul (eternal conscious energy) having a temporary human experience... You view me on the basis of your religious affiliation because you brand/designate me as a 'non-believer'... I don't agree with doing this, not in the name of any religion... I don't agree with doing this on the basis of principle... But you are of course entitled to separate/divide people in this manner.

And if we're really being honest, the example of saving someone from visible physical danger that is a threat to their physical well-being - in no way can you compare this to any religious doctrine from any religion claiming that something terrible will happen to you if you don't believe that religion. Claims which require that you must have 'faith' that they are true/valid. You can't verify or test those claims because there is no evidence that you can present. If you don't follow what I'm saying, if Hindus told you that something horrible will happen to you if you die without identifying with Hinduism, are you going to accept their claims? If you tell them that they're wrong, and they say "prove it" - how are you going to accomplish that? You can't prove something wrong for which their is no evidence... Doing this to people is the same regardless of what theology it is done in the name of!

Why would you question whether or not I would try to help someone who was thinking about ending their life? The truth is I have reached out to individuals in the past who expressed suicidal thoughts. Why would any religious affiliation or lack thereof have any pertinence when we are talking about basic empathy and care/concern?

No one is drowning in reality, Pooka... That you think someone is 'drowning' because they don't claim affiliation with one religion/theology among 100+ religions - that is the issue here. That is an unhealthy belief to hold onto and influences you to create division where no such division actually exists. You do not consider yourself in danger of 'drowning' for not identifying with those other 100+ theologies - why is it that you expect other people to consider themselves 'drowning' for not identifying with yours? You expect other people to have a reaction that you yourself would not exhibit had adherents of other religions made similar claims to you. That's not being fair - that's playing favorites.... I cannot agree with any such practice.
 Quoting: WOLF*

Drowning was a poor analogy but the only thing that came to mind on the spur.

I absolutely defend your right to believe as you choose. I simply want to offer you what I have, which is an assurance of eternal life to come. I accept that you do not understand or see that eternal life in Heaven as logical or possible.

If you were a guest in my home, I would want to offer you the very best I have. It might be sumptuous, or it might be very poor, but it would be the best I have. In a similar vein, I offer you the very best spiritual information I have. I do not insist you take it - but I want to be sure I offer it.

I think you are a very nice person, very thoughtful and perceptive, and will make the very best decisions you can.
