I had a family member overdose on morphine. I doubt he even knew he did it. Here's how it can kill you: You take a shot of morphine because of pain and your judgement becomes blurred. Add to that the other drugs you're taking and you forget that you took the morphine so you take another shot. Now your memory is even more suppressed. You take another shot forgetting you have already taken 2. Here is where things start to go down hill fast! The part of your brain that is responsible for your breathing has been severely compromised. You simply stop breathing and poof! You're gone.

My family member (that overdosed on his oral morphine) was found with his eyes wide open looking like he never even saw it coming. He was just not there any longer.

SO, as I know you have comprehension issues, let me clarify...

This study was able to ascertain a small increase in IPA (and to be clear, domestic ARGUMENTS are included in that category, which is why it is used independently of "violence") based on DISTAL factors surronding marijuana use PATTERNS.

What this actually means in layman's terms is that among a test group with an admitted PATTERN of marijuana use, there seems to be a small increase in IPA. This cannot take into account all outside factors, as there is no control (IE abusive relationship CAUSING marijuana use instead of vice versa, alchohol use at the same time, etc.)

WHat it DOES say conclusively is that they have been able to find no correlation or increase in IPA with proximal effect (IE there's no evidence that someone ACTIVELY USING MARJUANA, or "under the influence," has any tendency to have more IPA because of being under the influence.)

In OTHER words... there are social / substance factors that are frequently common to marijuana users that can cause domestic arguments, (as that is what the studies are primarily looking at, hence the term IPA as opposed to violence, an important distinction) however the actual USE of marijuana shows absolutely no increase in the tendency for violence, IPA or any other type of aggression. No systematic increase in violence while USING marijuana can be found.
