How could they not be Amazon? How could they fuck that up. Hell, they had pics and descriptions all ready to go. They could have had a website up and running from day 1. Dumb assholes, apparently Six foot girl gonna sweat when she dig Stand close to the fire, when they light the pig |

Dumb assholes, apparently It got old. The people who built it cashed out. The people keeping it on life support cashed out. It was a too-long-lived company. No company can survive that unless it is tied in intimately with the banking vultures. Somehow those spawns of evil always survive. |

Graboid_Hunter User ID: 76258609 United States 12/08/2018 12:05 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | They were a dinosaur in the emerging tech sector then. Not surprised tbey are collapsing, though it makes me sad now. First, they thought software was forever. No, it's cusp in 2 years and obsolete in 4. You don't treat your software infrastructure the same as your brick & mortar infrastructure. They were heavily reliant on legacy Cobol in 1998 (example)... state of the art in 1978. They took a costly mistake attributable to the legal analysts and amortized it across retail, management, IT, etc and held all those sectors equally responsible come annual bonus time. Hugely unfair, like making the whole class stay in at recess because of the misbehavior of one student. Had to grant IT a bit of a pass on that score (paltry token) else they'd walked). So, tell me... how am I supposed to improve my performance next year to ensure some totally unrelated dept doesn't cause a costly fuck up? If "nothing" then what's the point of the bonus? Because if the answer is play everything super-safe, work super-hard and still.potentially lose it all because of someone else's screw up... maybe that's a game I'm not interested in playing. I always liked Sears. It was an honor to go go to work for them back then. I think rank & file worked hard and tried their best... I know I did. Management... had issues. Very sorry to see tve fall of the Mighty but they did it to themselves with shortsightedness, mismanagement, and a radar-lock on the rear-view-mirror. Left in 98, never looked back. Making 3x today what I made then and it wasn't grub money then. Last Edited by Graboid_Hunter on 12/08/2018 12:19 AM |

Their whole business was figuring out how far off the market sears was and then resold their inventory for 40% gravy. Not bad. If you leave stupid people to run things, you already got your money so who cares. |
