I disagree. The beginning of the relationship is supposed to be the honeymoon period. Starting a relationship that's already based on problems that need to be fixed? It just sounds dysfunctional from the get go. Not my idea of a fun relationship, but whatever floats your boat.

I think it’s first all about thoroughly vetting a person before getting into anything serious. They show serious red flags, then common sense says bail. As the old saying goes, ‘When someone shows you who they are, believe them’.

But yeh AG I do agree with you, if you have trust issues even though the other party gives you no reason to suspect of any wrong doing, then it’s your own issue to deal with.

I had a GF who had serious trust issues. No matter what I did she wanted to constantly keep tabs on my whereabouts and follow me everywhere because she was terrified I’d cheat or leave her. Her issues consumed her so bad that she ended up leaving me for some morbidly obese effeminate guy at work. I was utterly dumbfounded until it dawned upon me that she had to get with a guy who looked like that because he was a safe option who no other woman would be interested in.

ETA: she eventually dumped him for another morbidly obese guy who no other woman would be interested in. Obviously she still has deep rooted trust issues.

I had a bf like that. I never ever gave him a reason not to trust me. I'm as loyal as they come. He also tried to turn me against my family and friends. Not good signs, but when you're IN it, you don't always see it.
