BREAKING: "Squadron" of B52s escorted by fighter jets heading north from Pond Inlet
I have a friend working for the North-West Comany who is presently in Pond inlet (North-West Baffin Island, like 500miles south of Thule).

He calls me about once a week or so just to catch up and basically keep some kind of communication with the outside world, so he just called me to tell me that he just saw a "Squadron" or B52s escorted by fighter jets heading north.

I asked him to define "Squadron" he said that he didn't get a full count but at least three groups 5 or more per group with another 3-5 fighter jets per group.

I have no idea what if anything that could be foretelling of but it seems fairly significant given whats in the area and the Canadian over-flight.

EDIT
-----------------------------------------------------

Also, I am aware of this sounding like "Uncle Intel" so take it as you feel you should, just seemed like GLP might be an appropriate place to find further info.

That's what I thought as he was explaining it to me, I spent some time in Iqaluit and was at Alert for like a few weeks wwhen I was a child, I remember seeing them but not in those kind of number and that was in the Mid-Late 80's

if they're headed across the pond, you should also be seeing some tankers...fighters won't make it across without them.
Maybe a fighter deployment with KC-10s along to help them? That's not too unusual.

Yeah, next possible landing strips would be Thule, Greenland and then Alert, NT on their way over the pole.

The chest beating and posturing is getting to be a massive pain in my ass. I lived through the eighties as a kid with the threat of Russians.

Now, we have to do a round three with my kid having this over his generations head. Here's an idea. Put all the World Leaders in a WWE style cage death match, the last four standing get to lead.

What do you expect... China is landing on the dark side of the moon. They will probably come face to face with the reason America has not been back since the 70s?

Don't worry, it was just a mix-up by USPD

Thanks to some mail getting delayed, they've only just received their 1945 dispersal orders to drop nuclear bombs on Yokohama, Tokyo, Osaka, Nagoya, Sapporo, Fukuoka, Kobe, Kowasaki, Kyoto, Saitoma and Nilgata.

But don't worry, they'll only be using 1945-issue 0.1 Megatons "Fat Man" nukes so it should cause more that about 5 million in casualties.

Wouldn't think they necessarily would just to my knowledge those are the only airstrips in the neighborhood that can accommodate.

No shit, In the environment I came up when I was a kid I was a little bit more exposed than your average person, luckily I didn't get it at the time but that is shit I don't wish to repeat.

Unfortunately it's always leaders sending someone else to fight their pointless battle, never themselves.

Canada's extraordinary arrest one week ago of Huawei CFO Meng Wanzhou, the daughter of Huawei founder and billionaire executive Ren Zhengfei, and its decision to charge her with "multiple" counts of fraud - a preamble to her likely extradition to the US to face charges of knowingly violating US and EU sanctions on Iran - has elicited widespread anger in Beijing, which declared Meng's detention a "violation of human rights" during a bail hearing for the jailed executive on Friday.

That anger has apparently only intensified after the hearing adjourned without a decision (it will resume on Monday, allowing Meng's defense team to argue for why she should be released on bail, contrary to the wishes of government attorneys who are prosecuting the case).

Well I haven't heard anything more, Hopefully it was nothing to be concerned about.
Still seems like a huge escalation in the ongoing brinkmanship that I would rather not have continue.
