(pg. 71)-UK Government on verge of collapse Could you imagine if this was happening in France now with a Frexit Jo public would go insane. We are just not there yet protest wise as France. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 77436264 Nowhere near the French style of protests, yes, there will be unrest whether we stay or leave, strong feelings on both sides of the vote. It would appear that if we do leave it's going to be a softer Brexit, whilst the die hard leavers will cry betrayal and label MP'S as traitors, it has to be said, whichever political party were to be in power they have to realise that nearly half of those who voted wanted to remain. So a soft Brexit will deliver the end result of the vote, but those who wanted to stay will still have an connection to Europe. I voted to leave, but just out curiosity, what would our members here prefer if you had only two choices; 2nd referendum or a soft Brexit? |

(pg. 71)-UK Government on verge of collapse ^ ^ ^ ^ ^ I agree with you so what is a 2nd referendum doing on the table for discussion this afternoon? Summary MPs are set to vote this afternoon on whether to ask the EU for a delay to Brexit It comes after MPs reject the UK leaving the EU without a deal by 321 to 278 votes Theresa May is to make a third attempt to get her deal through Parliament in the next week If no deal is agreed, MPs will get the chance to vote on a series of Brexit options Speaker John Bercow selects four amendments to main motion to be debated He selects one seeking another referendum, but blocks one rejecting such a vote - prompting anger from Brexiteers Labour confirms it will not back the amendment calling for another referendum [link to www.bbc.co.uk (secure)] Last Edited by clock on 03/14/2019 11:30 AM none |

(pg. 71)-UK Government on verge of collapse Perhaps we should have a referendum whether we should go on funding Parliament seeing it is no longer democratic ? I do not know how to get a petition for Parliament to discuss this ..on the online site . I expect they would not accept it . Once there was a rumour there was a petition to sign up to get the Great Liar aka Tony the war monger tried for an illegal war but sadly they would not allow it . I bet Queenie could do a better job of sorting the mess out even though she is quite old than the dormice we have in Parliament . |

They actually have the negotiating edge if they were brave enough to own it. |

His decision making in the past few weeks has been described as baffling at best and that's from his own base of supporters! |

"I'm surprised at how badly it has all gone from a standpoint of negotiations but I gave the prime minister my ideas of how to negotiate it. I think they would have been successful. She didn't listen to that and that's fine but it could have been negotiated in a different manner." [link to www.bbc.co.uk (secure)] |
