I installed a hand pump and looking into solar pump. Heat from fireplaces usually goes up the chimney. Wood cooking stove is the way to go. In an ideal world you would have a 500 or even 1000 gallon tank and would only be running it when necessary. Combined with a battery bank to store the excess power and you could make it last for a few months if you absolutely had to. |

We are solar and are grid tied. So a Tesla Powerwall would be compatible with our 26 panel 8.710 kW, (SolarEdgeInverter, SE7600H-US w/ P320 Optimizers) ? = = = = Thank you for any advice. We do not wish to compromise our warranties nor risk injury to utility workers. A normal grid tied solar system has a safety feature that automatically stops providing power to the lines in the event of a power outage. The idea being is you don't want the power from your solar going to the grid and potentially zapping a linesman trying to repair the system. With a powerwall, it automatically detects if the grid is operating and when it detects the grid is down it automatically isolates your house from the grid. You are then able to use the power coming from your solar and also charge the batteries if you are producing excess. Thank You. I'll be looking into one. |

However, I want to caution that there ill people, disabled people, older people, sometimes all three in one person, who cannot prepare well for themselves and because of the above conditions have not been able to get with the neighbors. We can be prepared for two weeks, as advised, and then whatever happens happens - we cannot disturb their comfort. My oldest jeep fails , I have an old ass Kawasaki mule that gets prolly 50mpg. Can siphon gas out of the other 3 jeeps I have as needed.
