He’s claiming he anticipated this! Odd, because in prior earnings calls he certainly didn’t mention “We plan on revenues falling so badly as a result of this anti-gun stance, that we will consider closing all 35 Field & Stream stores”.

He’s obviously full of shit. This is the same reaction the CEO of Target gave after the financial disaster following his stance on “genderless bathrooms”. After enough investor pressure, he eventually relented.

What Dicks board of directors needs to do before this becomes permanent, irreversible damage to the company is to replace the CEO and announce they are reversing his decision. Buyers would come flooding back.
