3-M 363 Aluminum Aviation tape [link to www.uline.com (secure)] works pretty well. It's used to patch holes in jet aircraft. But duct tape works in a pinch.

NASA originally stated that the 2mm wide hole was caused by chance from a passing micro meteoroid or orbital debris strike, however it then transpired that the hole was caused by a drill and was then patched up shoddily.

According to Rocosmos chief Dmitry Rogozi sabotage has not been ruled out.

for what purpose?

now they have a huge thermal breach that will cause them to lose heat, create localized condensation inside, etc.
