In OKC two downtown skyscrapers leave office lights on in their windows to form huge crosses on all four sides of the buildings for the Christmas season.

A huge cross may be coming down from a public park in Missouri after the Freedom From Religion Foundation sent the city a complaint.

The telephone-pole sized cross has lit up every Christmas season for over 20 years as part of a “drive-through holiday light display” through Finley River Park in Ozark, the Christian County Headliner News reported. Ozark is a city of about 17,820 people in Christian County.

The cross is made from a permanent utility pole and lights, the newspaper reported, and it is one of dozens of displays in the public park.

In a statement posted to Facebook, the city said it received a complaint to take the cross down.

“While we respect the interests of those who have long enjoyed the holiday display in Finley River Park, we must acknowledge the Federal Constitution and its interpretation by the U.S. Supreme Court,” the city said.
 Quoting: McCruise

The United States has no official religion and if that was put up on display by the city it should be taken down. How would you like it if I put a Pagan pentagram up there? I mean everything Christmas is Pagan in origin anyways so I guess it would make that much difference.

If the Christians are right and there is a hell I'm sure I will be see you there since your a trumper.

There's a cross in Montreal on the mountain. If they took it down we would go ape shit in the streets.
But I'm sure you guys will write some letters, do some phone calls, and complain online. You're all pretty good at talking, so I'm sure you're gonna win this.
Good luck.

How can you officially celebrate Christmas at all?

This group right here is a HATE group.

FFRF

They are a non profit and use our tax dollars to bully small towns from using anything Christian.

Look at this satanic "Kids" Book.

Freedom From Religion is a non profit.
They deserve to be stripped of this designation.
If enough Christians started a movement to get this groups designation removed, they would lose funding.
To think, tax dollars are being used to fund a non-profit that literally fucks me and my upbringing and heritage.

“While we respect the interests of those who have long enjoyed the holiday display in Finley River Park, we must acknowledge the Federal Constitution and its interpretation by the U.S. Supreme Court,” the city said.

The cross was unplugged by the city on Tuesday, KY3 reported, and now the city is “evaluating its options to keep it up or not.”

The statement says the letter “brought a concern” to the city’s attention, and the city “cannot ignore the First Amendment which protects freedom of speech, protects freedom of the press, protects the right of the people to peaceably assemble, and prohibits the government from making laws or taking actions that may promote or prohibit one religion over another.”

City staff decided a lawsuit over the huge cross is one the city would not win.

“It is the position of the City of Ozark that leaving a religious symbol on public property, in this case a cross, will result in a law suit that we will not win as the other communities throughout the U.S. and our own region have tried this and lost,” the statement says.
 Quoting: McCruise

What about our freedom as Christians? Christ is the reason for Christmas, so those who do not believe in Christ as we do should simply go do whatever they do or don't do, but never mind about Christmas - it isn't for them, anyway!

Seeing people in hijabs upsets me - I can't tell who is under that hideous black stuff and I don't know what their intentions might be. Where is my freedom not to be upset?
