Because it was purchased using the donations of people to the church. People give those donations to be spent for the benefit of those who need help.

I do not expect pastors to live in poverty, but a lambo is over the top. He helps run a megachurch -- that is a lot of work and responsibility. What would have been so wrong with a nice luxury SUV, or if he had to have a sports car, may a corvette or something a little less in your face to parishoners than a lambo??

Seriously, I can afford a lambo, if I wanted one, but what a stupid, new/borrowed money attitude waste. It's why so many new money types, end up no money eventually -- stupid choices. You will rarely see old money in a lambo, unless they just rented the damn thing for fun.

Lamborghini? That's small time. There is a pastor near me who owns his own airport. With a Private Jet and a few other planes. The Airport his ministry is built on was a old Air Force Base. You could land Air Force One there LOL!

Agree , I am happy when someone can have nice things. Church money should never be used in this way. I would wager many in that Congregation is struggling just to have heat this winter.

Well it is not a working airport per se , but it still is a airport ! And I think he has a Cessna Citation Jet.

I think what that pastor doesn't understand yet is:

1. As a Manager, you are going to be held responsible for those under you.

If the people that go to his church donated that money to God, to help other people, and to keep the church running, and he awards it to himself... God is going to hold him personally responsible for stealing from him.

I wouldn't want to be that guy.

You can tell when someone is not close to God because they desire that stuff. When you get close to God and understand what's going on, you only want the basic necessities and have no desire for riches or power because this is not your permanent home and it's nothing compared to heaven.

The church, a tax free "entity" owns almost all this stuff.

If I really wanted to be a tax cheat, I could take the weekend training to become a "strip mall pastor", then place everything I own under my "church". Heck, maybe I will do that in conjunction with getting my international yoga certification in 2019?? I will be a spiritual "minister"(sarcasm).
