So, it's both. Quoting: Moon&Stars IMO the dipping is an optical illusion. It's the force of the updraft rising from the ground making it appear like it's dipping. When you observed this did the funnels appear to jump/jerk around? That's been my personal observation. The funnels jerk around as if they're twitching. Correct, the vortex forms in the storm, first horizontally. Once it achieves sufficient velocity it starts to stand up. This in turn sucks cloud base into the top of the vortex, forming the funnel cloud. Once the vortex reaches the ground, it starts sucking up dirt and debris which completes the column from the ground up. The vortex, from the base of the funnel cloud downward, is invisible until it reaches the ground and starts sucking up debris. O'sCookie O's C, I have said this (about the "electrical part") for YEARS, after noticing that many, most - really, tornadoes always - ALWAYS - seem to head in the direction of mobile homes and mobile home parks. The METAL in them seems to attract tornadoes. BTW - I was in a mobile home once, when a tornado came within just a quarter-mile from me. It was spooky! And then when it was the closest it came, there was a loud POP! Like "circuits" shorting out...hair standing on end....that was my first observation of such a phenomenon. However, if the "electrical universe" element is NOW included in the formation of weather--such as this new theory--then many of these "THIS IS HOW YOUR WORLD WORKS" VIDEOS are going to have to be RE-FILMED! I don't wish to debate with you what parts of meteorology are AT RISK for a new paradigm to set up--because I am NOT educated in this science. However, I DO KNOW that if Suspicious Observers (Ben Davidson)--a leading edge scientist--is EXCITED ABOUT THIS NEW THEORY...then all the old videos are going to need to be revised. And yes, the "magnetics of tornadoes" seems to always come up in any reports of the damage--like NAILS being pulled out of buildings and other metals behaving strangely during the storms. I've also noticed, as you say, that it's almost like they make a BEE-LINE for trailer parks. That could be the electrical connection in sone way as well--it's too early in the theory to really comment on that, however. As I mentioned in the post above...NEW IDEAS about what all this "electrical component discovery in tornadoes" will mean for meteorology (and the other sciences which spin-off FROM THEM AS WELL)...will probably need to be hashed out in the years ahead. At least this is getting some SERIOUS STUDY in 2018...whereas ANYTHING that was even alittle "off the mainstream path" was always ridiculed and vilified. If you don't think that is true...just take the historical case of Immanuel Velikovsky in his terrible treatment by mainstream science in the 50's and 60's. Now his stuff is well accepted by many who called him a "quack." Let's keep an open mind on this and see what they find. Since I bring up Velikovsky as a good example of how "new theories" have been received in the past--and this includes "The Electric Universe Theory"--Look at these 2 excellent videos...They opened many eyes! | Riff-Raff DEFCON 4 User ID: 76340466 United States12/14/2018 09:30 PM  Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | It's important to understand that a tornado is formed by the updraft of a storm cell, meaning that air is being pulled up from ground level into the supercell on the back side of the storm. When this updraft begins to rotate, it starts to lower towards the ground, initially forming a wall cloud. If it continues to grow, it will develop a funnel and then a tornado. Quite often you will see a funnel that does not look like it is in contact with the ground, but a debris cloud directly underneath the funnel shows that it really is. You will see this exact phenomenon in the tornado videos I posted from Central Illinois two weeks ago. So from the aspect of the fact that a tornado (and a hurricane, technically) is formed from rotating air that is moving from the surface up into the storm, you could say that tornadoes form from the ground up. Sort of. However, the conditions necessary for a storm to spawn a tornado have to be just right at multiple altitudes, not just at ground level. Therefore, in my opinion, it is too simplistic an explanation to say that tornadoes form from the ground up. It's more complicated than that. And that's just talking about the classic tornadic supercell. Tornadoes that form from squall line storms require completely different dynamics. A majority of Indiana's tornadoes occur from squall line storm systems instead of supercells, so we took an advanced spotting class from the weather service dealing with just that kind of storm. Dang...Dang...Dang... I wish that S.O. would provide more background on the new theory because it really has captured my imagination. Believe it or not...My dad was obsessed with tornadoes. We lived in the mid-west--prone areas for tornadoes--and he'd get the whole family up in the middle of the night to CHASE tornadoes (before it was cool.) It used to terrify me to death! He'd be really intrigued by this news about Tornadoes forming from the ground up via "electric plasma connections." I will look at the video and let you know! Thanks!
