Windows 10 can I connect to the internet using LAN connection automatically like Win7 ?

windows 10 is an abomination

the comp tech guy told me in a year and a half

we will all be 'forced' ? to go to windows 10

i want win 7 forever

apparently this is not possible ?

WIN 10 is invasive but runs like a clock, runs far better than 7 even did. Connecting to a LAN isn't an issue (I have 8 of them hard-wired and Wireless), so what's the problem exactly?

Listen, as a gamer, a class of internet users notably aware of performance of computer hardware and software when it comes to the highest demanding software we run, the games (and remembering that we are so aware and keen that the hardware guys make these really expensive super-computers for us to game on), I can tell you that win10, despite my total disdain for it and my happily using win8.1 for a long time, actually runs better than windows has since winxp.

i cant alter the brightness for win10

its a paperweight

i will take my chances with win7

and wait for win15

Oh? Because when I right click on the desktop and go to display settings, I get this as the first thing that comes up:

its not user friendly

and to be quite honest

is REALLY UGLY

Pssh that's so minor.. No no, if you want to have a legit complaint, complain about how there is almost no control over the automatic updating in win10, at least not easily.. because they have made it TOO user-friendly, in the same way as the MACs, wherein people who know what they are doing have to work extra hard to get to changing the backend, on account of all of the automation piled onto the frontend for joe average user.

theres no desktop

its just a mess

a bunch of decorated pop ups

that serve no use and are constantly on the screen

theres no minimizing web pages

You should see how terrible the start menu is in win8 lol

In 10 the start menu is more or less like in winXP, but with some big side icons next to it

surely we can keep win7

Well honestly, if I weren't a gamer, I wouldn't be using windows at all. For general computer use, a good Gnome or KDE install of Linux works just fine.

win10 is a horror

I have 1 Win 10 machine (rest, including all office machines are 7) and it is for me a disaster.

It only gets used behind a Metered Connection ... and it uses so much data talking back and forth to Microsoft I end up having to pay extra for the connection every month I try to use it ....

... then add in their MANDADORY Full System Updates every six months where they are more concerned about adding additional features than keeping the core of the machine running properly. My one Windows 10 machine downloaded the notorious November update ... and now won't do some simple tasks that it used to do that my Windows 7 machines do with no problem.

Consumer to Microsoft ... 98% do NOT WANT and do NOT NEED all those new features you keep adding with each major rewrite of your code (every 6 months). WHY can't we tell the stupid machine NOT to download that entire NEW OPERATING SYSTEM every 6 months? Costs me in data overage fees every time that happens, and I CAN'T SHUT IT OFF!!

Oh well we arent so far off from a time where there wont be an operating system or computer, you'll just close your eyes and float within the internet, via a brain interface.

For those folks who are using W10, but want the W7 experience,

install Classic Shell.

Choose Windows 7 start menu look.

Done.

you just put my NEW life into words

It's helpful if you go through each of the settings menus and TURN OFF everything that you do not use.

Plus, turn off UPDATE SHARING or whatever they call it.

It's basically P2P sharing, like Napster, but for UPDATES.

If you do not do this, W10 will keep updating programs and Apps that you do not even use to begin with, including TRIAL programs.

microsoft should sack the entire win10 team and get back the old win7 team that they "mistakenly" layoff.
