Folks, get yourselves, and your family, off this crap.
If you need a sweetener, please use stevia. natural, and as far as I know safe. We even carry packets with us when we are driving to use in our coffee at Cracker Barrel/Dennys (they only have pink, blue & yellow packets). You can also grow stevia plants yourself, add a few leaves when brewing tea for sweetness.
Better yet, wean yourself altogether from all sweeteners, as much as possible. I drink unsweetened black tea and black coffee most of the time. I only use cream and sweeten my coffee when traveling for a special treat.
Quoting: Lady Jane Smith Stevia is great stuff! It's all I use. I drink mostly unsweetened iced tea, usually a combination of black & green, decaffeinated when I can get it on sale. I use Stevia when I make flavored iced tea for a treat and when I drink hot tea. Tea seems more bitter to me when it's hot. I also use it when my granddaughter comes to visit. I make her flavored tea popsicles. She loves them and can have as many as she wants because there is no sugar or caffeine in them. Grandma had to find a good treat for her! I use Stevita. It's a liquid and I think it tastes better than the powder. Isn't it more processed when it's a powder? Anyhow, I get the liquid on Amazon. I get 3 bottles for about $35. One bottle lasts me close to 2 months. Quoting: Paranoiaaaaa Xylitol, made from Birch, not corn, is also quite a good sugar substitute that helps give sweetness without wrecking your insulin levels. Also whitens teeth. But you need to make sure it isn't from corn. Quoting: Fluffy Pancakes I have heard of Xylitol in toothpaste. I thought it was just because it was a sweetener. Good to know. Thanks!
