The Church started with Jesus and the apostles, not Emperor Justinian a millennium later. Period.
Quoting: Anonymous Coward 3373 ...
Did you never believe in the Eucharist or did you just abandon it? We fear no other denominations. It’s actually the other way around.
Quoting: Anonymous Coward 3373 Orthodox have the Real Presence too. The Catholic Church recognizes this, and the Orthodox Priests are considered valid Priests by the Catholic Church. The Catholic Church considers Orthodox as a "sister" church, and if you cannot attend Mass at a Catholic Church for some reason, you can fulfill your Sunday obligation by going to an Orthodox Church, and receive the Eucharist. OTOH, Orthodox consider Roman Catholic to be heretical. Seeing what is sitting on Peter's seat, that is a very accurate analysis. Byzantine Catholic is a bridge to Orthodox. There is no difference other than the fact Byzantine Catholic is under the pope. Quoting: tiger1 Thanks for the info about the Eucharist. I didn’t know that. If we believe the same things about faith and morals, what is your problem with the Pope? Yes, there was corruption in the Church. There might still be. No human is perfect. Catholics know that the Pope is a sinner. But his job is to not lead the Church into error regarding Church doctrine on faith and morality. How could you call recognizing the office established by Christ himself when he gave the Keys to Peter heretical? Sounds like you’re just looking for a reason to justify the schism, because that is absurd. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 3373 I can't say much for RCC myself besides they are considered heretical to Orthodox Christians. You might like listening to this debate, should clear things up for you. It was established by Jesus and the apostles and has at least 1,000 years on any other Christian denomination.
