Why? Because it's her claim to fame that protestantism is nothing more than a bunch daughters in rebellion to "Mother church" as proof the protestants religion isn't truly sola scriptura, and therefore have no legitimacy. I am not by any stretch a biblical scholar and am fairly new to being a Christian. I was actually raised to be the opposite. Jesus just resonates with me as the perfect savior for all of the imperfections of man (and women). The tree of knowledge vs life makes a lot of sense as does his role in giving us (fucked up humans) a path to get it right and be with God. |
