STAY GOLD User ID: 73771308 United States 12/21/2018 09:45 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Cannabis as Addictive as Heroin Quoting: Cannabis Kills People Cannabis can be highly addictive, cause mental health problems and lead to hard drug use, according to a new study by a British addiction specialist. [link to www.breitbart.com (secure)] The terrible truth about cannabis: Expert's devastating 20-year study finally demolishes claims that smoking pot is harmless A definitive 20-year study into the effects of long-term cannabis use has demolished the argument that the drug is safe. Cannabis is highly addictive, causes mental health problems and opens the door to hard drugs, the study found. Last night Professor Hall, a professor of addiction policy at King's College London, dismissed the views of those who say that cannabis is harmless. 'If cannabis is not addictive then neither is heroin or alcohol,' he said. 'It is often harder to get people who are dependent on cannabis through withdrawal than for heroin – we just don't know how to do it.' Those who try to stop taking cannabis often suffer anxiety, insomnia, appetite disturbance and depression, he found. Even after treatment, less than half can stay off the drug for six months. Professor Hall found: One in six teenagers who regularly smoke the drug become dependent on it Cannabis doubles the risk of developing psychotic disorders, including schizophrenia Cannabis users do worse at school. Heavy use in adolescence appears to impair intellectual development One in ten adults who regularly smoke the drug become dependent on it and those who use it are more likely to go on to use harder drugs Driving after smoking cannabis doubles the risk of a car crash, a risk which increases substantially if the driver has also had a drink Smoking it while pregnant reduces the baby's birth weight [link to www.dailymail.co.uk (secure)] Fucking Alcohol is worse. Fucking stuff kills more people since the beginning of time combined when abused! “Nature’s first green is gold, Her hardest hue to hold. Her early leaf’s a flower; But only so an hour. Or something else altogether. Either way it makes the material you offer less compelling than if you just discussed it in some kind of context. Which leads to the obvious question- Cui Bono? Only those in agreement with you are going to respond positively to what you're posting and those who you would really be trying to help are unlikely to get on board with your stuck up 14 year old girl with a hair up her ass routine. No one likes a scold, especially one devoid of any humor or self-awareness. And that's you. So who would benefit from your repetitive tirades? Commercial cannabis industry. So that's my educated guess at motive. If you're just obsessed with it, you're definitely at the 'get professional help' stage of your journey. meh |

Quoting: Accidental Stoner Legal drugs, now, on the other hand... But this OP is not really interested in truth. He is out after something else. I listed the three probabilities and then I ranked them by efficacy/likelihood. Suffering from a mania, less than 50:50 due to quality of the posts in terms of working links, relevance, grammar, construction of thesis, etc. Pro-Big Pharma looks the most likely as they have the most to fear from the cannabis industry, but if it is them the old 'you catch more flies with honey' theory isn't being used very effectively, in fact even if I were neutral about the subject these kind of posts would more than likely drive me over to the 'if this guy hates it so much it must be okay' side of the argument and that's not what a paying customer would want, results-wise. Now as far as antipathy goes OP has clearly developed an anti-cult vibe turning more people on to grass as to away from it. So who benefits in that situation? Just sayin' meh |

I take diazapam, not much 2mg when needed for spasms and not everyday sometimes not for weeks. Never felt any addiction or withdrawal. Two reasons for that. You're taking it for a physical symptom, not a mental one. And you do not take it that often. If you were to take it every day, and it was your 'crutch' for social interactions (which it is for most people) then the addiction fully kicks in. The reason the withdrawl is horrible is that your mind floods you with even more anxiety/all sorts of bad thoughts and feelings in an effort to get you to take a benzo again. Withdrawl intensity/length depends on how long you've taken them, [link to americanaddictioncenters.org (secure)] I was on the damn things for 4 years or so, it was a low dose, but the withdrawl was a serious pain in the ass. The good news is anyone can beat it. A friend of mine was in a fancy rehab facility for coke... there were heroine, alcoholics, and benzo addicts there. He said the opiate people were fine, but the benzo people consistently had outburts, could barely look anyone in the eye etc. It's one hell of a drug and way too over prescribed. |
