I know about Santa being an idol of the planet Saturn, and how the whole holiday came from the pagan festival of Saturnalia. How a 300 AD Pope decided that 25th of Dec was to be accepted as the birthday of Jesus, in order to Christianise the day that was otherwise known as "the birth of the unconquered sun". Because of the winter solstice and the sunlight returning. How every single custom is realated to pagan roots.

My family situation is not that great. A miracle we did not kill each other yet. I am not going to celebrate by myself as it will be far too depressing. Better not bother at all.

Do what I do, vaca with wife and daughter in a cabin in the woods for our Christmas. An hour away from nearest store. It's awesome! We Do it every year.

Not gonna lie that sounds pretty great. But don't really have a family of my own. Mostly just different fractions of what used to be, with a couple of trouble makers thrown in the mix.

You can join my family for Christmas.

Might do a customized version of Christmas, like taking a trip to Amsterdam or something like that. Yes indeed... Just might...

Christmas was always traumatic. Remember one time, I was assaulted by one of my older brothers, because he felt disrespected somehow. Threw me out the window. I grabbed onto the Christmas tree and it flew through the window as well. Good times.

They also went completely overboard with the Christmas themed music at work. If I have to listen to another song about Rudolf this year I'm going to cut my ears of with a box cutter.

Same here. I've come to hate Christmas since it's not really about Christ.

I just spend time with my immediate family. I don't speak to my parents or siblings. In fact, I haven't spoke to some of them in over a decade.

I boycotted Christmas in 1973 and have not participated in that conspiracy since then - doesn't mean I can't enjoy the "holidaze" ... just means I'm not perpetuating promoting or supporting the lies

This is one of the things that is great about being an adult. You actually get to choose who you're dealing with or not. And some people family or not you're just better off not being around what so ever.

Pity the rest, but I just never see "satan" or "misery" in those little birds faces when they are cracking open those Merry Christmas petit fors that look like decorations you eat.
It is terrible how we have to be vigilant against GORGED dogs and cats tho - they will feast like romans and little kids sneak them expensive petit fors.

We closed yesterday on solstice to put our feet up and close out the year.....whatever pagan deities or barbarous rituals neglected will have to look after thier selves.

My family is a thousand years old that we wrote down. Probably pagan as patrick back then too, even tho traditionally been chivalry order. Certainly have hacked up a lot of satan bullsh*t with gusto and sure we will again, but anybody would?
