This animation resulted based on a potential (not confirmed) theoretical landslide at Anak Krakatoa. Field surveys will have to investigate.

Arrivel times of current simulation correlate well with tide gauges. High tides were in place, amplifying run-up.

The evacuation of the victims of the tsunami in the Sunda Strait is continuously performed by the combined team. The number of victims continues to grow. Up to 10.00 a.m. EDT 23/12/2018 recorded 62 people died, 584 people injured 20 people missing &. Hundreds of homes and buildings were damaged. Heavy equipment deployed for the evacuation.

I'm finding a lot of footage on instagram that I haven't seen on twitter. The damage is really bad, I can see now why the death/injured toll keeps rising. This is so horrible and freaky. Like someone said here earlier, at least with an earthquake precursor you have some semblance of a warning. These people had nothing.

Several of those clips, I suspect, are from Banda Aceh in 2004. The roads look remarkable CLEAR of debris only a few hours after the tsunami hit. It normally takes days and days to clear all that shit off the roads.

At least 168 people have been killed and 745 injured after a tsunami hit the coast on Indonesia's Sunda Strait, government officials say.

The disaster management agency warned that the death toll after the tsunami, that struck at about 21:30 local time (14:30GMT) on Saturday, is likely to rise further.

Deaths have been reported in the Pandeglang, Lampung and Serang regions.

The BBC's Rebecca Henschke in Indonesia said there were reports that the death toll in Lampung province alone could be in the hundreds.

A tsunami believed to be triggered by a volcanic eruption killed at least 222 people in Indonesia during a busy holiday weekend, sweeping away hotels, hundreds of houses and a group of people attending a beach concert.

More than 800 people were reported injured after the tsunami hit around the Sunda Strait at 9:27 p.m. Saturday, the Disaster Management Agency. At least 28 others were missing, but the toll could continue to rise because some areas had not yet been reached.
