It's one of the more "monitored" volcanos over there, but even so, when it blows, the tsunami is a predictable result. The proximity to the adjacent coastline doesn't allow much escape time between eruption and tsunami landfall...that coastline isn't a good place to inhabit, but the excellent fishing makes it worth the risk to them...living with the devil...
...I'd like to see an active volcano before I pass...
