Cannabis causes cardiovascular complications resulting in deaths
Marijuana Use Linked to Two Deaths

Although marijuana may have a reputation as a relatively harmless drug, a new case report links it to the deaths of two young men in Germany.

Toxicological examinations concluded that the men were under the influence of cannabis before they died, and traces of THC — the main active ingredient in marijuana — were found in the men's blood and brain tissue, the researchers wrote in the report.

In both cases, the deaths were related to cardiovascular complications. In one of the deaths, a 23-year-old man without a history of health problems suddenly collapsed while using public transportation, and died after 40 minutes of unsuccessful resuscitation efforts, according to the case report based on postmortem investigations. The man had a small amount of marijuana in his pockets when he was found, according to the researchers at the Institute of Legal Medicine, University Hospital Duesseldorf in Germany, who reported the case.

In the second case described in the report, a 28-year-old man was found dead at home by his girlfriend. An ashtray, rolling paper and a sealable plastic bag containing remnants of marijuana were found next to the body. The man had occasionally used cannabis, the researchers wrote.

Pot may not have a chilling-out, calming effect on everyone — evidence is emerging that for some people, smoking marijuana could increase the risk of heart problems, doctors say.

In a new study, researchers used data from a database called the French Addictovigilance Network, gathered from 2006 to 2010. Of the nearly 2,000 reported complications related to marijuana, the researchers found that 2 percent, or 35 cases, involved heart problems. These cases included 20 people who suffered a heart attack, and nine who died.

Researchers found most patients were men, with an average age of about 34. Regular marijuana users with a family history of heart disease had an increased risk of heart disease, according to the study, published today (April 23) in the Journal of the American Heart Association.

Doctors, NEVER mention diet as an issue or a cure ( sometimes diet is the main cause of illness and doctors would rather you be on pills. )

I suffered with celiacs my whole life, an extreme gluten allergy and doctors never knew what my problem was.

After I cut out gluten finally many health problems I've been plagued with went away.

Doctors never figured it out, I did.

Doctors are stupid, they only know how to read a medical book and repeat it without using any independent thought.

Methotrexate is only taken once a week for non-cancer conditions like arthritis which I have you nincompoop. If you took Methotrexate daily it would kill you.

You have arthritis? I don't! lol

I also smoke weed, have an extremely high sperm count (been counted at least 6 times) probably significantly higher than yours.

I could go on but I'll stop with this - If we went side by side for medical examinations I gurantee you I'm healthier in every measurable way.

Enjoy arthritis faggot! No cannabis for you.

All the dope smokers I know are dying from complications of marihuana usage, from cardiovascular complications to reporgramed sperm. Pot smokers never have children and are all on the brink of death - facts!

Because none of those people with cardiovascular problems ever smoked cigarettes, drank caffeine, used illegal or prescribed stimulants, or had regular EKG's and heart function tests to prove they never had an underlying condition.

I mean, just because an article states that someone had "no previous medical problems" doesn't mean they were actually getting check-ups regularly to actually prove this but then along comes cannabis, the convenient scapegoat it's always been used as.

Cannabis:

Harmless? No.

Medically harmful to 99% of people who use it? No.

Re: Cannabis causes cardiovascular complications resulting in deaths

Really stretching at this point.

I mean, the numbers that you yourself cite here are so hilariously low as to make it almost a non-reportable issue regarding cannabis-related deaths.

I mean, you understand that coffee (well, caffeine actually) gives people heart attacks all the time and is never reported as the cause right?

Doctors, NEVER mention diet as an issue or a cure ( sometimes diet is the main cause of illness and doctors would rather you be on pills. )

I suffered with celiacs my whole life, an extreme gluten allergy and doctors never knew what my problem was.

After I cut out gluten finally many health problems I've been plagued with went away.

Doctors never figured it out, I did.

Doctors are stupid, they only know how to read a medical book and repeat it without using any independent thought.

Yet more shite for the drug addict who doesn’t even read the shit it posts.

"We assume the deaths of these two young men occurred due to arrhythmias evoked by smoking cannabis," but this assumption does not rule out that the men were predisposed to cardiovascular risks, they wrote.

Some have suggested that OP is trolling in the deep and trying a new approach to show people how ridiculous the arguments of the anti-weed crowd really sound, especially by always providing these obviously low-quality, massively-biased, anti-cannabis "research" articles.

Not really sure what to believe since intent is extremely hard to decipher through written text.
