Pot smokers never have children and are all on the brink of death - facts! Quoting: tratak Because none of those people with cardiovascular problems ever smoked cigarettes, drank caffeine, used illegal or prescribed stimulants, or had regular EKG's and heart function tests to prove they never had an underlying condition. I mean, just because an article states that someone had "no previous medical problems" doesn't mean they were actually getting check-ups regularly to actually prove this but then along comes cannabis, the convenient scapegoat it's always been used as. Cannabis: Harmless? No. Medically harmful to 99% of people who use it? No. Yep and I'll be the first to admit weed is addictive. But it's as addictive as bread or chocolate. 2 things that can also lead to health complications when abused. I have a few rules though, like no going to bed high, always smoke at least 4 hours before bed, that way you aren't going to sleep high or full of food either, good sleep is key. I've also found doing this keeps tolerance low too, for some reason going to sleep high is the worst thing you can do. |

Toxicological examinations concluded that the men were under the influence of cannabis before they died, and traces of THC — the main active ingredient in marijuana — were found in the men's blood and brain tissue, the researchers wrote in the report. In both cases, the deaths were related to cardiovascular complications. In one of the deaths, a 23-year-old man without a history of health problems suddenly collapsed while using public transportation, and died after 40 minutes of unsuccessful resuscitation efforts, according to the case report based on postmortem investigations. The man had a small amount of marijuana in his pockets when he was found, according to the researchers at the Institute of Legal Medicine, University Hospital Duesseldorf in Germany, who reported the case. In the second case described in the report, a 28-year-old man was found dead at home by his girlfriend. An ashtray, rolling paper and a sealable plastic bag containing remnants of marijuana were found next to the body. The man had occasionally used cannabis, the researchers wrote. [link to www.livescience.com (secure)] Also Not So Harmless? Pot Linked to Heart Problems Pot may not have a chilling-out, calming effect on everyone — evidence is emerging that for some people, smoking marijuana could increase the risk of heart problems, doctors say. In a new study, researchers used data from a database called the French Addictovigilance Network, gathered from 2006 to 2010. Of the nearly 2,000 reported complications related to marijuana, the researchers found that 2 percent, or 35 cases, involved heart problems. These cases included 20 people who suffered a heart attack, and nine who died. Researchers found most patients were men, with an average age of about 34. Regular marijuana users with a family history of heart disease had an increased risk of heart disease, according to the study, published today (April 23) in the Journal of the American Heart Association.
