Moderate users of cannabis had less bone fractures than the control group. And for the "heavy" users, 95 out of the 114 test subjects also abused heroin or other illegal opioids. The definition of a heavy user was the equivalent of smoking weed 5 times a day, every day for 25 years. Shouldn't you change the title to "Moderate cannabis use strengthens bones while herion makes them weaker"??? |

Studies have also found that cannabinoids help encourage the body to produce bone cells. Too few cannabinoid receptors can leave you more prone to osteoporosis just as it can slow the bone regeneration rate, setting the stage for osteoporosis. In addition, opioid patients had a significantly higher risk of dying and were more likely to have a heart attack while on the medication, compared with those on NSAIDS and COX-2 inhibitors. In the first study of its kind to investigate bone health amongst cannabis users, researchers have found that people who regularly smoke large amounts of cannabis have reduced bone density and are more prone to fractures. The study also found that heavy cannabis users have a lower body weight and a reduced body mass index (BMI), which could contribute to thinning of their bones. This could mean heavy users of the drug are at greater risk of osteoporosis in later life. [link to www.ed.ac.uk (secure)] Got milk? 'ere 'ave a toke you silly git . Is reality based on geometry? OP just sees anything that the opioid rattled brain can skew as "cannabis is bad" and runs with it without actually reading. But to be fair, this person is a drug addict and can't be expected to reason or use logic. Honestly, this OP would benefit greatly from the thing he (or she) hates.
