All the time but I do a lot of drugs.

Usually something very trivial when I am doing some deep thinking.
Like.....grabbing a clean ash tray or something.

If I remember correctly
Mentally stating your intent before crossing a doorway threshold is a remedy for this.

It does not really matter..
When I dream I am complete again.
Last night I was myself again with all of my faculties intact.
Elton John played a random concert and we spoke to each other.
Then I observed myself from another beung and was told I just need to keep moving. Then I was back in my body and went to a party..
Then everything turned into a drawing and I had ddja vous in my dream and knew what name was going to be beneith a drawing of my father and it was there and everyone said you are ok just keep going so Im not too concerned about the now as it is just another scene that needs to play out.

I do that a lot.

Then I have to go back and retrace my step as I talk the events out loud until I go OH YEAH! DUHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

Then I go back and do whatever it was I was doing in there in the first place.

I usually stand there staring into space until I remember exactly what it was I planned on doing. My OCD prevents me from moving past the error in my mind, otherwise it would bother me for the rest of the day. So I stand like there's a glitch in my circuit.

It is a funny thing.

And then sometimes you're on the brink of remembering and then POOF! It's just gone again.

When that happens I just go back to where the thought fell out of my head. It's usually still there.

I hide things and then forget where I hid them.

I have torn the place up, nearly having a panic attack, looking for what I hid.

Same. Benzos and weed ALWAYS make me forget what I am looking for when I enter a room, but if I 'fight' it for a minute, I can usually remember.

I have done this enough times that I made a list of where I had hidden everything so I wouldn't forget. But then I had to hide the list. Afraid that I would lose the list too, I wrote the list in code and put it in an easy to find way.

Oh yeah I hate when that happens.

What I do so that won't happen is, I look right at the place im about to place it... then in my mind I say a color over and over about 6 times like pink or whatever color.

Then I put the object in that place.

So if I can't remember... I will remember the color I associated with the object. and then that will remind me where the hell I hid it or placed it!

Seems like a lot.. But its not.

me too and sometimes I just show up in a room when pacing and thinking on something else.. I pace often when I am deep thinking.

But sometimes i have intention to get something from a room and then can't remember what because my mind went thinking during the path to the room and I simply forgot WHY I was going there. Sometimes I retrace my steps and then I will remember what i needed.

That's a funny way to remember! I could see why it would work, though.

You just walked through the portal of forgetfulness. No biggie. Happens more as you get older.

The previous night: "Ah yes, this is a safe and obvious place to leave A Thing."

Following morning: "Where the fuck did I leave That Thing."
