Centurylink has thousands and thousands of fiber cable in the ground around the U.S. Verizon and other cell providers buy access to Centurylinks network in order to provide cell service so if Centurylinks network goes down then Verizon’s cell service would be affected in an area where they buy access to Centurylinks network. The company said Thursday night the problem involved a "network element" that was affecting services but didn't provide details When they don't provide details is when I worry! The list of 911 outages does not include my county in WA state but does include many areas. No trouble for me in recent times with CenturyLink telephone or internet. What's the plan for morning? If it's all going off still or again, find whatever I am actually going to use for heating water as I have foods that only require hot water, along with for coffee and tea. Then think about trying to stay warm - that's a much harder proposition with only electric heat and hot water for showers. No showers is like the very worst thing in the world! We will have to stay in bed to stay warm. The Voice just said Local emergency 911 number service is out of service until further notice. If you have an emergency or medical emergency to remain calm and contact your local non-emergency Authority number. I think that's unusually weird and not normal at all.
