Things that pack alot of food in a small container with a long shelf life.

Peanutbutter, dry pasta, co-co wheats, cream of wheat, dry rice, dry beans.

And water!

Dried red beans are cheap and store for ever
Rice too

Try this recipe, it is even better than the boxed version of Zatarains. Someone reverse engineered it to "off the shelf dried ingredients (which also store forever)

My wife blind tested this with most of her family against the zatarains box and this was way better hands down.

Dried foods are fine, but the next doom will probably be a "shelter in place" scenario. (unless you live in a big city)

That's why I also stock a lot of canned food. Cheap and easy to prepare.

The very best prep food is food that you grow/raise yourself. Get out of the city if you are serious about prepping.
