I'm a joke? Is THAT all you got? 1rof1

In the REST of the PASSAGE, Peter THEN explains WHY God or Jesus GAVE him the "vision".

You are in error for taking a PART of a "passage" / story and trying to use it for some type of argument that has an entirely different meaning.

Here's the REST of the "story".

Acts 10

17 Now while Peter doubted in himself what this vision which he had seen should mean, behold, the men which were sent from Cornelius had made enquiry for Simon's house, and stood before the gate,

18 And called, and asked whether Simon, which was surnamed Peter, were lodged there.

19 While Peter thought on the vision, the Spirit said unto him, Behold, three men seek thee.

20 Arise therefore, and get thee down, and go with them, doubting nothing: for I have sent them.

21 Then Peter went down to the men which were sent unto him from Cornelius; and said, Behold, I am he whom ye seek: what is the cause wherefore ye are come?

22 And they said, Cornelius the centurion, a just man, and one that feareth God, and of good report among all the nation of the Jews, was warned from God by an holy angel to send for thee into his house, and to hear words of thee.

23 Then called he them in, and lodged them. And on the morrow Peter went away with them, and certain brethren from Joppa accompanied him.

24 And the morrow after they entered into Caesarea. And Cornelius waited for them, and had called together his kinsmen and near friends.

25 And as Peter was coming in, Cornelius met him, and fell down at his feet, and worshipped him.

26 But Peter took him up, saying, Stand up; I myself also am a man.

27 And as he talked with him, he went in, and found many that were come together.

28 And he said unto them, Ye know how that it is an unlawful thing for a man that is a Jew to keep company, or come unto one of another nation; but God hath shewed me that I should not call any man common or unclean.

29 Therefore came I unto you without gainsaying, as soon as I was sent for: I ask therefore for what intent ye have sent for me?

30 And Cornelius said, Four days ago I was fasting until this hour; and at the ninth hour I prayed in my house, and, behold, a man stood before me in bright clothing,

31 And said, Cornelius, thy prayer is heard, and thine alms are had in remembrance in the sight of God.

32 Send therefore to Joppa, and call hither Simon, whose surname is Peter; he is lodged in the house of one Simon a tanner by the sea side: who, when he cometh, shall speak unto thee.

33 Immediately therefore I sent to thee; and thou hast well done that thou art come. Now therefore are we all here present before God, to hear all things that are commanded thee of God.

34 Then Peter opened his mouth, and said, Of a truth I perceive that God is no respecter of persons:

So in the END, Peter's vision had NOTHING to do with dietary law. It had to do with gentiles being allowed by GOD to be Saved through Jesus just LIKE the Jews that Peter had taught to previously in Acts.
 Quoting: TheLordsServant

Yes you are for it referred to food because he said he was hungry

10 And he became very hungry, and would have eaten: but while they made ready, he fell into a trance,
11 And saw heaven opened, and a certain vessel descending upon him, as it had been a great sheet knit at the four corners, and let down to the earth:
12 Wherein were all manner of fourfooted beasts of the earth, and wild beasts, and creeping things, and fowls of the air.
13 And there came a voice to him, Rise, Peter; kill, and eat.
14 But Peter said, Not so, Lord; for I have never eaten any thing that is common or unclean.
15 And the voice spake unto him again the second time, What God hath cleansed, that call not thou common.

Told him to kill and eat!

Fail!
 Quoting: Warrior Spirit

Nope.

The vision has to do with Peter's willingness to obey God.

God "used" the vision as a "challenge" to Peter. In other words, IF God was to TELL Peter that he could NOW eat anything, would Peter accept the change in what was acceptable TO eat?

In comparison, Jesus originally had the Apostles teach ONLY to Jews. By then END of the story, Peter understood that it was NOW OK for him to teach & baptise ALSO gentiles who had been declared "clean".

It is clear what they meant because it was said in the context of eating, being hungry, and him saying no after being told to kill and eat it! But you are clearly in denial so it is pointless trying to make you understand.

And would never negate his law.

Yet we are told this,

(Jesus)Not that which goeth into the mouth defileth a man; but that which cometh out of the mouth, this defileth a man. Matthew 15:11

(Peter)Acts 10:9-16 King James Version (KJV)
9 On the morrow, as they went on their journey, and drew nigh unto the city, Peter went up upon the housetop to pray about the sixth hour:

 Quoting: Warrior Spirit

Is Peter actually Satan? By your type of reasoning / logic he is! Check this out.

0. Statement - "Peter, the Apostle, tempted Eve in the Garden."

1. In Genesis 3 the "serpent" tempted Eve.

1 Now the serpent was more subtil than any beast of the field which the LORD God had made. And he said unto the woman, Yea, hath God said, Ye shall not eat of every tree of the garden?

2. Revelation 12 states that the "serpent" is satan / the Devil.

9 And the great dragon was cast out, that old serpent, called the Devil, and Satan, which deceiveth the whole world: he was cast out into the earth, and his angels were cast out with him.

3. In Matthew 16 Jesus tells Peter to "Get thee behind me satan".

23 But he turned, and said unto Peter, Get thee behind me, Satan: thou art an offence unto me: for thou savourest not the things that be of God, but those that be of men.

Summary. So, using those verses and a certain "logic", can it be said that Peter is ACTUALLY Satan?

Moses is kinda a short time.. but the "god" that helped Moses was the nice GOD KNOWING FOLKS from the Planet Jehovah.. not God the Trinity directly.

It is my belief that 'God' being a title rather than His name, is mistranslated. I think that since Abraham had never seen 'God's' face, he heard a voice (adversary) and thought it was 'God' and then the angel told Abraham to chill the F! out. He then offered the ram as a sin offering.

Murder is an abomination and 'God' never changes. He simply would not ever tell Abraham to sacrifice Isaac.

Don't pretend to know me. I have not broken all of the law and I repented that which I have. I no longer break the law. You see, His mercy endureth forever. I will take responsibility for what I've done and no, there is no substitute.

Paul says all men are sinners, that's a Paul thing. I strive for righteousness.
 Quoting: janedoenut

LOL .. legalists

You failed (just like all of us) in striving for righteousness through obedience to the Law.

The Law was not given to provide righteousness, rather to show you your condition.

I do not set aside the grace of God, for if righteousness could be gained through the law, Christ died for nothing!

Righteousness can only be given (by Jesus) and not earned

For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.

The Law is like a mirror to show you that you are unclean;
you don't wash your face with the mirror!
 Quoting: [email protected]

I'm sorry you don't understand the law and yes, I live by it. You, on the other hand, have an avatar that strictly breaks the 2nd Commandment. We worship two different gods so it really doesn't matter.
 Quoting: janedoenut

You are a liar if you think you keep the Law.
Read my post above again.

Acts 13:10

"You son of the devil, you enemy of all righteousness, full of all deceit and villainy, will you not stop making crooked the straight paths of the Lord?"
 Quoting: [email protected]

Again, you don't know me so don't call me a liar. Why are you quoting Luke, an apostle of Paul? Pew sitters.

I honestly don't care what you believe and have no desire to tell you what to believe. I do hope you repent and be righteous instead of a sinning failure.

Re: God is the same as he was in Moses times....
Same GOD, but he dealt with Israel (the priesthood) in a very different way, under the law, than he deals with the body of Christ today under grace. Learn to rightly divide the word of truth and the word of GOD unfolds... Paul is the apostle of the gentiles, and brought the gospel of grace to the world... all the prophesy, promises, covenants are for Israel (the (priesthood) and have nothing to do with the body of Christ. Different set of rules for a different group of people.

No and more NO... You ones believe in Anunnaki gods and not Creator from the beginning of the Creation. The word of God can only unfold thru those who know the Father within Them and manifest him.

Some of the Gods were ETs.. like the people from the planet Jehovah who assisted Moses.

Paul was the greatest enemy of Jesus because he was so confused.

There is None that... Understandeth.
There is None that... seeketh after God.

Re: God is the same as he was in Moses times....

 Quoting: TheLordsServant

It is clear what they meant because it was said in the context of eating, being hungry, and him saying no after being told to kill and eat it! But you are clearly in denial so it is pointless trying to make you understand.
 Quoting: Warrior Spirit

The context is explained in the same text and it is about making the gentiles clean. It is not about eating.

Peter knows that God already prohibited eating unclean animals he is not going to eat unclean.

Deu 13:4 "You shall walk after the LORD your God and fear Him, and keep His commandments and obey His voice, and you shall serve Him and hold fast to Him.

Deu 13:5 "But that prophet or that dreamer of dreams shall be put to death, because he has spoken in order to turn you away from the LORD your God, who brought you out of the land of Egypt and redeemed you from the house of bondage, to entice you from the way in which the LORD your God commanded you to walk. So you shall put away the evil from your midst.

Re: God is the same as he was in Moses times....
easy now

Matthew 5:22
22 But I say unto you, That whosoever is angry with his brother without a cause shall be in danger of the judgment: and whosoever shall say to his brother, Raca, shall be in danger of the council: but whosoever shall say, Thou fool, shall be in danger of hell fire.

Raca
R'ACA, noun A Syriac word signifying empty, beggarly, foolish; a term of extreme contempt.
 Quoting: Ozric

1Co 6:3 Know ye not that we shall judge angels? how much more things that pertain to this life?

Jer 4:22 For my people is foolish, they have not known me; they are sottish children, and they have none understanding: they are wise to do evil, but to do good they have no knowledge.

In this NOW it is important to interpret ones own thoughts....you are partially right.....

the key word in your quoted verse is NOT foolish nor RACA it is ANGRY.....

always we must not be ANGRY......why? .....the foolish/raca ones are CHILDREN....

sparing the ROD will always bastardise the written WORD that 'angel' that we always must 'rightly judge'.

So who was telling the Truth!? Is God a liar!? Have you been decieved by the false prophet that Deuteronomy warned about. That would lead you into idolatry and to follow after other gods!? Have you!?
 Quoting: Warrior Spirit

God said he cleaned them, if the be clean and now you can eat of them. First of all, a lot of the one mentioned in the Old Testament were unclean if you did not know how much to cook them to keep the from getting sick from eating them. That the difference. Cooking by the time of Jesus had improved a lot.

Cooking is what makes things even now, healthier to eat, it is not that hard to understand. If you read what he said about mold, lepers and other diseases. How to treat disease, and wash mold and the types of mold.

Man wrote up some of these things, not just God. His was to protect people not make a tradition of eating.
 Quoting: hankie

Law boys will never understand, law boys don't understand they need a substitute because they could not uphold the law perfectly, only one that ever did was Jesus Christ.

Law boys don't understand they already broke all of the law. They continually break a bunch of the 613 laws.

Jesus fulfilled the law perfectly, OP did not, he already broke it over and over, OP can't mend the laws he has broken.

That's what the law boys don't want to see, their own status as law breakers.

Re: God is the same as he was in Moses times....
This is the simplest way I can explain this...

If you're a parent of a 5 year old, would you let him borrow your car to go to a friend's birthday party alone?

Simply started... no.

Now, 11 years later, after he has successfully completed his driving test and got his driver's license (and you believe he is responsible enough), would you let him borrow your car.

For most of us, the simple answer is yes.

So, what changed?

You are still the same parent and he is still your child, but he has grown and matured enough for you to change the rules.

Likewise, my parents didn't let me drive a flying car. But there's a possibility that my kids will let their kids (or future generations down the line) drive a flying car... what changed?

Keep up.
Psalm 119:124-125 - I am your servant; deal with me in unfailing love, and teach me your decrees. Give discernment to me, your servant; then I will understand your laws.
